Resistance 3 Brutality DLC: Mastadon And A Sledgehammer

Sometimes, downloadable content just sneaks up on you. But then they release a heavy-hitting trailer and suddenly, everyone is paying attention.

The Brutality DLC for Resistance 3 is now available on the PlayStation Network for only $3.99. Taking place in a "darker version" of the game's Wales location, the oncoming onslaught of Chimera just won't stop.

Therefore, you'll need extra help...how's about a sledgehammer? That's right, you can unlock the sledgehammer in this DLC, and to add to the atmosphere, Insomniac is tossing in a set of seven songs from metal band Mastadon. That should be all you need to know, but here's a pretty cool trailer:

Resistance 3 never really got enough attention or respect when it launched, so we hope it earns a bit more longevity through extra content. Besides, it's always fun to beat the tar out of enemies who just don't know when to quit.

Personally, R3 was a fun as hell towards chapter 17, then a pure grindfest after that due to infinite enemies and minimal story. Anyway, do people still play this game...I borrowed it from a frined, beat it in two days and called it a done deal. I mean isnt it too late for dlc? I mean there are like a million games out to play right now that really give R3 some true competition both online and offline?...

I will buy this game and this piece of DLC only because of Mastodon. If you put this kind of music in whatever game, you got me no matter what. To make a clearer point, Brutal Legend is one of my favorite games of all time ;) it was just brutal as it's name implies. Still dreaming of a sequel.

people do still play but from what I saw mostly deathmatch is played. havent tried online co-op with this pack but did single and it's pretty fun. got to round eight before stopping last night

Oh man, I love Mastodon. That was the selling point for me. That being said, I'm actually disappointed with this DLC so far as there is no search player function for playing online. Anyway, anybody want sledgehammer some grims with me I looking for fellow players.

let me back track on my previous statement...since i usually dont get on during the day. just gpt on and finding different typ of matches to play. surprised to still get a full room for team deathmatch. i usually get on at midnight if i do...usually

Mastadon's not really my thing but.... I read an interesting interview a few days ago that the boss of Insomniac did, & in it, he stated that he's been a super-huge fan of Mastadon for a long time, & that he always tries to show up at every show he can.

And later, he decided to call them up to see if they would do the soundtrack.

The rest is now part of R3 DLC history.

this is exactly why i hate teasers!
they always end up being massively disappointed!
i mean seriously insomniac, a survival mode, something almost every game these days has is worth teasing?
next they will be teasing a slice of bread!
wow, so amazing!!!!!

sogh....
i wish they would just bring the 8 player co-op from R2 back!
now that was the shiz, i absolutely HATE MP games but i was glued to that like flies to dog sh*t for months!
even the ridiculous lag, and getting disconnected from 99% of the games and loosing all my progress did not put me off playing it!
not to mention the hilarious bugs.
i remember one of the maps every time a titan spawned it magically weighed nothing and the top half of its body would get stuck in the roof.
both funny and infuriating, especially when your doing so well and dont want to loose all your points!

And now I keep having to redownload the "pass" every time I try to play online...
