Sorcery Enchants Shelves This Spring
Good news in the inbox today.
Sony has announced that the long-awaited PlayStation Move title, Sorcery, will be released in Spring 2012.
The Nightmare Queen is threatening to toss the world into eternal night, and it's up to a young sorcerer's apprentice to master the arcane arts and fight back. The Move controller allows you to summon and command powerful magic, which will be essential when facing a bunch of demonic enemies. The gameplay will also include puzzles, "countless items to discover and collect," creating potions (aka Alchemy), and overall, there will be eight spells that can be used in a variety of combinations.
Basically, the Move is your wand, and you can chain together spells into stronger combo attacks. "Freeze and shatter your enemies, electrocute them with lightning called down from the heavens, or incinerate them in a lethal firestorm!" Here's the rest of the press release:
DEVELOP YOUR CHARACTER – Collect magic items, learn new spells, and concoct upgrade potions, to turn your humble apprentice into an unstoppable magic force!
A LUSH AND VARIED WORLD – Explore five unique realms, each with their own enemies and challenges. Descend into the kingdom of the dead to battle the Banshee and the Restless Dead warriors, venture into the endless stair where vicious bogies are wreaking havoc, brave the faerie forest, raid the Slumbering Palace to free Lord Fey, the Faerie King, and much more!

Sounds great though. Now let's see some more gameplay footage, Sony. Please don't release this game the same day as Mass Effect 3 or Max Payne 3 without even hyping the game at all. Looks promising so I'd hate to see it release unnoticed.
