Just Cause Movie Script Apparently Needed A Rewrite

We're not sure why the producers believe this film needs any writing whatsoever. ...oh all right, we're just exaggerating.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bryan Edward Hill has been brought on to rewrite "Just Cause: Scorpion Rising," which is being produced by Adrian Askarieh and Eric Eisner.

If you didn't know, Just Cause is all about open-world mayhem, with over-the-top chaos on a grander scale than Grand Theft Auto (just nowhere near as refined). Just Cause 2 launched earlier this year and ended up selling over 3.5 million copies, so of course a movie adaptation was logical.

Michael Ross ("Touristas") wrote the first draft of the script but evidently, they needed to bring in Hill to fix it up. Hill co-wrote "Broken Trinity: Pandora's Box," a Witchblade mini-series for Top Cow, and he co-created the Image comic "7 Days From Hell." The latter got Hill involved in Hollywood, as he was hired to write the big-screen adaptation. Let's hope he gives "Just Cause: Scorpion Rising" the boost it needs.

I love JustCause2 but it's storyline/characters were the weakest part. I see this movie having the same quality as FarCry did.

A movie for a game where the best thing is the gameplay, not the story?

eh, whatever.
after the atrocity of doom ive learned to ignore hollywood, they have released probably 5 good movies since 2000!
i just wish avalanche would do another just cause game, but this time with higher destructibility, and less repetitive missions.
i dont mind the cheesy faceless characters, it fits really well with the games cheesy b grade i dont give a f*ck tone.
they need to have a look at all the mods out there.
longer leaches, higher strength leashes, multiple leashes able to strap to multiple things, faster reel in times.
add that to just cause 3 with a bigger and better map, bigger fire fights, larger map, less repetitive enemies and combat.
and you got yourself the perfect open world game!
