Kojima Teases New Title With...See-Through Underwear?

Okay, so...this is a little strange.

Now that Kojima Productions have passed along development of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance to Platinum Games, they get to work on the master's new project, which uses the oft-discussed and much-hyped Fox Engine.

So Kojima went on Twitter and posted a screenshot of his "new title," which features an obvious military theme. Most don't really see anything too special about that picture (and I don't, either), but Kojima followed up with another Tweet and said something...kinda bizarre.

"One of the key features about 'Fox Engine,' here's the transparent technique. See-thru underwear."

And that's what you see here in this article. Are you impressed now? Why exactly did Kojima want to show off the capability of the Fox Engine with transparent garments? Is that tough to do from a programming standpoint? Will we be seeing a lot of see-through underwear in this new game? In truth, I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to be looking at in that picture...

You got me a little confused on this one, Kojima. How's about you just unveil the game?

Hmm interesting. I guess since close being partial transparent is something that hasn't really be done like that ever before.

Hideo is just messing with us like he always does. Looks like this is another Metal Gear game from the first picture.

I think the second picture is just a ruse.

I hope it's either one final Big Boss game or a game detailing the The Boss and The Cobra Unit in Normandy.

What an utterly strange picture to use to use to show off anything at all. Strangest of it all is that it doesn't even look to be transparent, just a regular texture with a bra drawn on them.

Maybe it is some kind of a joke? Irony?

From the looks of it, and the fact that it runs on the Fox Engine, it's a multiplat game for sure. That being said, I hope it's not an MGS game. No offense, but if it's gonna be a MGS game, I'd rather it not run on the Fox Engine if that's what it's gonna look like. I'd rather it run on a specific engine for either the PS3 or PS4, whenever the next MGS game will be.

a better stealth suit for snake in the new metal gear solid? or maybe hes showing how good his multiplatform engine is by showing comparisons of real life to what their new engine can do graphically.

This picture looks like a render done on a home computer back in the early 90s - it doesn't show what any current graphics engine can do *at all*. That's why I am wondering if this is intended as some kind of joke, cause this render is just plain bad.

See-through underwear....what a guy. I don't know what he means, what his thinking or what his hinting off at & i don't care because see-through underwear is just full of Kojima win.

I might just buy some & play MGS4 in them.

HEY BEN and everybody , i don't really know if this makes any sense , or if anyone noticed it , and since im not really familiar with the MGS series check this pic , it might mean something, it's a blue collar i think ?

I am a noob about it but after some idea came to my head and some quick google image search I discovered that maybe what Kojima wanted us to see was that those are two WW2 nurses. Note the similarities on the costumes and how "oldie" they look with the poses, hairstyles, etc (even the color scheme used looks like the colors used in L. A. Noire, which emphasize the 40's).

Maybe its just me, but could it be a mistranslation?

If you look at the photo, you can sorta see what looks like a bra coming through the nurse's shirt. Maybe its see through clothes which reveal whats under them? To make solid objects have a sort of transparency in certain lights would probably be very hard to code.

Having said that I could be completely barking up the wrong tree and Kojima is just a nut job.

Some say that Japanese market is getting weaker...its because they try to westernized too much instead of focusing on their own idea.
Kojima does thing his way and more Japanese devs should do the same. He his one of the great devs that brings positive changes to the gaming industries and gives us such nice games :P
