Will Console Fans Ever See Diablo III?
Okay, first the good news, and then the speculation.
A reader has informed us that retailer Play.com has given Diablo III a January 24, 2012 release date.
Right now, the game is still in a beta phase that began in September and officially, Blizzard has only set an "expected launch window" of "early 2012." Therefore, the date isn't out of the realm of possibility. However, it's obviously only for the PC version and although we've heard that the developers are looking into a console release for this long-awaited game, we have to wonder when it will show up... At this rate, maybe that's a dangerous question to ask.
For whatever reason, PC games take seven gajillion years to make, as the Diablo fans (and Duke Nukem and Starcraft fans) will tell you. Just getting Diablo III onto store shelves will be some kind of monstrous feat; can console gamers expect a version for them on January 24 as well? Probably not. So when? Don't wait too long, Blizzard...after a certain point, we just might not care any longer.
Heck, the PS4 might be here.

im just not so sure there is A a market for it and B it will suit.
being a dungeon crawler game its like RTS games you really need a keyboard so you can have hotkeys and a large array of controls.
consoles though dont there really limited to their controls so it would be really awkward adapting the controls.
so im not really sure they should do it, i mean is there a market for it?
would it sell well enough to warrant hiring experienced developers for consoles, and porting it over?
would the sales cover the costs, and make a worthwhile profit?
im not so sure.

If Dungeon Siege were to stay true to the PC platform it would've been a solid hit and they would've taken more time to develop the game. and yes after 1st and 2nd game comes out and then a 3rd comes out, people start to get bored with the series. there's a number of different factors and I could go on and on.
So I think Diablo 3 should stay PC simply because that's where its roots are.
