Retailers List Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition
What's goin' on here...? Where'd this come from?
As noted by GTPlanet, online retailers like Amazon, Newegg, and Buy.com are suddenly listing the "Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition." Amazon and Newegg say it's coming on January 17, 2012 with a price tag of $39.99.
Apparently, Sony mentioned this edition in a short Sony FAQ pertaining to their PlayStation Rewards Program earlier this month, but we haven't seen or heard anything since. Unfortunately, none of the aforementioned retailers have specific details concerning this "XL Edition," but the general consensus is that it'll be the US version of the GT5 Spec 2.0 disc update recently announced for Japan. That sweet update included all the software updates and available DLC.
Of course, we say it would've been a better idea to release such an edition around the holidays. The first quarter is once again full of hot titles, too. But maybe you've been putting off jumping on the GT5 bandwagon for too long, and you've always regretted it...

It's still a good racer, but one that's wrapped in a couple of bad design choices. I do think if it was a little more polished, and if that premium/standard car split was removed it would have drawn a lot better scores. Oh well, I'm probably not qualified to judge it anyways. I'm just a gamer. :/

FYI....
If you keep on the lookout at Amazon, Fry's, & Newegg, occasionally you can find a 640GB,750GB HD or even a 1T HD there real cheap.
I wound up only paying $49.99 for a factory refurbed 750, another 69.99 for a brand new 750, and only $79.99 for a brand new 1T HD earlier this year.
And all were name brand HD's, Samsung & Western Digital.
