Rumor: Activision To Reveal New Guitar Hero At E3
Guitar Hero went from being a billion-dollar franchise to pulling in only a few hundred million. In many ways, the franchise is dead and forgotten.
But Activision has often said they would reintroduce the once-blockbuster series when the time was right, and perhaps that time is just prior to the 2012 holiday season.
According to StickSkills, "someone close with Activision" has said a new Guitar Hero title will be on store shelves "before the holidays in 2012." The announcement should come around E3, and footage of the new entry will be presented at the show...if you choose to believe this inside info.
Many have taken jabs at Activision for the eventual decline of Guitar Hero; pricey bundles, multiple spin-offs, and a general lack of innovation and reliance upon the name alone resulted in the franchise's tailspin. That's what most analysts will tell you. Some will even say Activision will allow the same thing to happen to Call of Duty, but it's almost impossible to imagine that multi-billion-dollar enterprise falling by the wayside.
So, do you want another Guitar Hero? And if so, what sort of innovations and progress do you hope to see?

Rocksmith is great, if you already own an electric guitar and want to learn how to play it. If you want a fun game, it just can't offer everything RB3 does (including the ability to learn not just real guitar, but also real keyboards, drums, and vocals). Nothing beats the band experience of Rock Band.

Only down side: You need a real electric guitar, cause this game will actually TEACH you how to play!
