Another Job Listing For Console Version Of Diablo III

It's starting to become the worst-kept secret in gaming.

Despite the lack of an official confirmation, more evidence continues to arise that Blizzard is working on a console iteration of Diablo III. The best we've had from the developer is the encouraging statement that the upcoming sequel "is probably coming to consoles."

But as more times passes, it's less like "probably" and more like "definitely." The Internet is a-buzz with another job sighting at Gamasutra...it's pretty obvious. Blizzard is looking for a Console Network Senior Software Engineer, and the successful applicant will be "responsible for ensuring the best implementation of sophisticated networking systems on consoles." See, there's that word again: "consoles."

Blizzard seems reluctant to make the confirmation but at this rate, we have to assume Diablo III for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is a given. However, we do wonder when the console version will actually release. How long will we have to wait after the launch of the PC version...? They won't be ready for a simultaneous release for all targeted platforms, will they?

I think Blizzard kinda screwed up here. It appears they're playing catch up with what surely should have been a no-brainer decision. The sixteen people who were going to buy this on PC will be upset, sure, but I do hope it's a simultaneous release. Hell, throw in cross-platform co-op too.

either that, or you seriously need to go have a look at the lines at blizcon the past few years!
diablo fans could not care less if it comes to consoles or not!
just as long as it releases on time and runs well.
been 12 f*cking years since diablo 2 released i think thats long enough!

Yeah 16 people is a joke. It will easily sell a couple million just as every Blizzard game does. Especially when over 11 million users still play Diablo 2 on Battlenet.

I saw a listing on Craigslist.com selling a beta code for around $50. It was sold with ease. This game is going to be nothing short of stupendous, thatisall.

i just hope blizzard know what there getting themselves into!
nothing worse then spending a arm and a leg porting a game over to new platforms, platforms your unfamiliar with, and seeing it flop.
im just not sure theres a market for this on consoles, and even more so if you would be able to make the controls work properly.
i mean playing skyrim on consoles after the flexibility of PC is a pain in the a$$ imagine what this would be like!
