BioWare Working On The Best Possible Mass Effect 3 Ending
Technically, even though BioWare intends to do more in the Mass Effect universe, the upcoming third installment ends a certain story arch. In other words, it's a trilogy.
And the team is working hard to produce a fantastic ending...even if it makes things more difficult when they start work on another ME title. BioWare creative director Casey Hudson told OXM UK they have a "few ideas" for future adventures, but the primary concern is to go out with a bang in ME3.
"We want to end the trilogy really strongly, and that's the most important thing, and then we have a few ideas for things we can think about doing in the future. But we're okay with making it difficult for ourselves, because the most important thing is giving people a great ending.
We want to do more stuff with Mass Effect, of course, and I'm sure we will. But we're not really thinking about that right now. We want to make sure we give people the best ending to Mass Effect 3 that we can."
From a developmental and storytelling standpoint, you have to appreciate the dilemma: you know you aren't leaving the setting behind forever and yet, you also know you have to end a particular plot arc with a compelling and recognizable protagonist. Leaving that "lifeline" is important but at the same time, you don't want to disappoint those who have been along for the ride since the start...they want a satisfying climax, yes?
I'm no fan of ME but that's just a personal thing; the franchise is fantastic and millions of RPG fans love it to pieces. So we truly hope BioWare makes ME3 an adventure to remember.

They wanted to make a trilogy, they started making it, it became enormously popular but they stick to the plan and now they end it.
No making it an annual release, no "half" version in between before the third, nothing of that stuff. A trilogy. Period.
Luckily they will keep the ME universe though, cause I totally love it. The races and their history, the organizations, the worlds, the entire package... Just luvin' it.

let me explain: (Wen fully upgraded)
While cloacked you receive 25%+ Damage with head-shot
The fully upgraded Geth Sniper Rifle alone knocks off about 75% of most enemy when deliver head-shot...
As extra protection I choose the barrier as extra power and I do not address any extra points to the power. So if some gets to close I barrier the sucker, move backwards a few meters and head-shot. The barrier with 1 points grands you 3 seconds to create distance. And it leaves more points for necessary powers which you can almost fully upgrade.
Basically it means you are a walking killing machine.

Fantastic, engrossing, detailed and great gameplay. Loving it!
I adore the moments on the Normandy and just chatting to my crew, i look forward to those moments the most. I can imagine this game being a sci-fi lovers wet dream!
However, it does suffer the same thing other games like this do also i.e. Elder Scrolls, Fallout or Biowares own Dragon Age - and that is wooden characters and voice acting. Possibly unavoidable with such games, but the monotonous delivery from samey and ordinary characters we've seen so many times before prevent me from connecting emotionally with any of them. That applies here and to all the games i mentioned.
Take a game like Catherine, every character is unique, memorable, engrossing and easy to get attached to...it reminded me of David Lynch's style of character play; no two characters were the same and all very memorable (think Twin Peaks). Catherine has it.....i mean, those middle-aged twins that blurt out random poetry etc is exactly that - fantasticly unique. The connection to Vincent and his two lovers was so strong, i cared so much about them that i was trembling upon the conclusion.....that is just not present in said other games to say they're character driven.
And that is my main gripe with ME2, but yet, i still love the Normandy moments the best, so Bioware must still of given what i find most problematic a good go, eh?.
I find a few other things to be minor problems too, such as slightly repetitive shooting and a very small amount of RPG play, but nothing major.
Overall i am loving it and would score it an 8 after 20hrs.

And isn't Mordin, the professor, just the most wonderfuly weird character ever? I love that guy. Or Thane, when he get those flashbacks. Or Tasumi!
The dialogue will not always take place at Normandy, but it's the "main camp" for these things, yeah.
