Holiday 2013 at the latest. I was expecting 2014 early last year, but seeing how things are right now, 2013 seems much more plausible. Not a bad time either. Anyway, my PS3 and I are perfectly fine right now, so I can wait for the next generation of consoles. No rush Sony, take your time.

Like I said before very happy with my PS3 and we probably won't see the PS4 until maybe late 2014 or early 2015. Work out those kinks Sony don't push out something that's going to crap out on us in 8-9 months.

Well, this time around I won't purchase the PS4 as a day1 purchase. I will wait for a little while if I can. If it is completely backward compatible without restrictions then I may consider a day1 purchase, otherwise I am prepared to wait a little.

I do have quite a few games to get through on the PS3, and I feel I have yet to enjoy the PS3 fully.

Before, I didn't want the ps4 to come out soon but since my ps3 died i'm torn between buying another one or waiting until the ps4 releases.

Hopefully there are some disgruntled people on craigslist selling xmas ps3's for cheap.

I am quite happy with my slim PS3. Though I liked my backwards compatible 60gb better till it died. I hope Sony takes it's time and get's everything right before sending out a new console. The biggest short fall of the PS3 seems to be too little ram. The new console should have at least 4gb of ram and let's have skype. Not sure why it hasn't been put on the PS3.

If they do announce it, i can't see it being released till the end of 2013 or early 2014.
I still think the PS3 has plenty of growing room i know the xbox doesn't it's outdated and stale so really it's only the compatition that's pushing Sony to release a new console.

Everyone is happy with the their PS3 as im sure they were all happy with their PS2 up until they saw those PS3 trailers. Let me make this very clear, no one here or anywhere else "needs" hardware up until they WOW us with new graphics and scale. When they started introducing the current generation everyone was talking about scale and many enemies they could fit on the screen... Heavenly Sword. This time Sony really needs to understand that if they want to wow us they really need to meet tech expectations in 2012 or 2013.

Look how well all the software companies are doing while the hardware companies are struggling. Samsung and Vizio are pretty much the only ones still making good money on the HDTV market. DELL and HP profits are getting smaller and smaller because they are simply the same but faster and prettier, If you are apple then this does not apply to you.

Sony really needs understand the "app" mentality side of service. Brain numbing graphics and sophisticated narrative to level of Shakespeare in exclusive will not be enough, just look at is going on now with PS3 exclusive, they are awesome, I own must, but most are not system sellers.

They need to make an infrastructure that makes it easy for indies as well as high end game developers to games and apps. These are trends that Sony really needs to embrace and attract all kind of service providers. Youtube is wonderful tool for niche audience that can easily be used for many specified tasks. Image if you are in the market place and next to game that are thinking of buying there is a list video reviews and fellow PSN user video reviews, ingame video clips and more.

The thing that I love about my android is not that is powerful and pretty or esasy to use, rather that I can customize it the way I want it. Please tell me why I can't do that with my PS3? Wouldn't be awesome if PSxextreme was on PS4 as an app, right next to app that automatically downloads all my favorite RSS podcasts feeds so I listen to them while I am making a level in LittleBigPlanet. Its awesome I know.

Since I am already here I need to say this. The dualshock NEEDS to have small touch pad screen some where. Hear me out first. I love my touch screen on my android as I am sure many love their on their phones or Pads, but I fu**ing HATE IT for gaming. Its an awesome tool for some kind of inputs. If PS4 is going to have another web browser they need a touch pad with a keyboard. If they plan to bring more MMOs to PS4 then they need a touch pad so that we can have more inputs, more buttons, more control. If they want to dominate RPGs again they they a touch pad so i can have a customized quick bar on my controller that improves my gaming and not replace it. If you are already mad because you think that I am suggesting that we should replace joysticks, buttons, and triggers let me just tell you that what we have now is awesome but not enough. They somehow need to fit a screen somewhere with controller. I think they could put a screen right under the sticks close to the body or on top where the ps home button is, but i doubt they could do this without increasing the general size of the controller. I really think this a must for PS4 if sony wants to appeal to the masses like Ps2 did. My six year speaks touch pad as my 85 year grandmother can. Is not about replacing but adding, adding value to eyes of people that don't understand CPU speed and Ram size. My two cents... ask and you shall get more.

I hope that the next generations of consoles except the Wii U don't come out until 2014. WHY?

Because of tall the games that came out in 2011 are enough alone to last a decade worth of gaming!

in all honesty, if the PS4 still uses Blu-ray form of disc and nothing higher or better, and, if the best HD they get still 1080p, I am not getting it at all for the entire generation, until ps5 comes and the blu-ray phased out and HD is replaced by the elusive Ultra HD which is said to be able to show 16 times of pixels the current 1080p can show, until that happens, I do not see any point to change a console. So they better put that in in the ps4 or I will wait until somebody does so for PS5 or wutever the name is....

I am not jumping onto the ps4 bandwagon unless the specs are out and it shows a significant leap in term of the media disc and the HD quality, before then, ps3 is perfect for me.....
