Original Killzone Targets PSN

Okay, so it wasn't the elite title some had expected. But you know, in a lot of ways, the first Killzone on the PS2 was plenty fun, and worth playing.

So after conquering Killzone 2 and Killzone 3, you can return to the start of the trilogy: simply download the game that started it all when it arrives on the PlayStation Network on January 24.

According to Game Informer (as cited by GameSpot), the 2004 PS2 title will retail for $9.99 and it's "part of a larger effort to release PS2 titles for the PlayStation 3." Yep, it's that "Only on PSN" program and there are a ton of games the fans want to see...go ahead, start listing 'em. Lots, right?

The PS2 had great games and quite a few timeless classics. When I say "timeless," I mean they should withstand the test of time; i.e., they shouldn't suffer too much when compared to modern-day productions. Personally, I'm hoping to see a lot of the PS2 RPGs hit the PSN. Who's up for the Shadow Hearts games?

" Who's up for the Shadow Hearts games? "

I m up for any game that would cost me more then 20 for a physical copy ( so yes to shadow hearths beside from the new world ) .So none of the game they offer right now for me .

Shin Megami Tensei games would be great on psn or games like fatal frame 3 or haunting ground ( too few horror game these days ) .

Who's up for Shadow Heart's?! Everyone should be! I would love that game to hit PSN. You see, one week before moving to Korea, my 60GB PS3 YLOD'd on me and my plans to bring some of my PS2 games with me failed miserably. I had just bought the Digital Devil Saga on PS2, the Devil Summoner games, and was going to bring some RPG's like Xenosaga, Tales, Shadow Hearts, etc but I couldn't because I had to get a slim! Gyargh!

I really hope they release more PS2 games on the PSN. I will be going back to Canada in 2013 (and back to my game collection), but it seems like so far away still.

What was garbage about it? I loved it the first time I played it and still do. Great enemies, really meaty controls, and one thing I preferred to the sequels, the fact you could choose between multiple playable characters at transition points who had quite a different way of playing. I'll definitely pick this one up assuming it has am EU PSN release.

That's why they didn't bother giving it a HD treatment.

I thought it was awsome. You can change characters plus the graphics are badass. I love that gritty look. I liked it way better than Medal of Honor or Black.

I missed the first game, it was quite unique having a four-man team against an entire army and getting to choose which character to play as in between each level. The online was its better aspect, wonder if that'll convert as well..

This is one PS2 game I'm excited to play on PS3. I've only played the demo for the original Killzone and liked it, but never got around to playing the whole game.

This is the first shooter I ever completed. Not sure if I'll get it, though. Still have my original copy and a PS2.

It's not the same principal as PS1 games going on my psp.

It wasn't the greatest but it wasn't the worst either. I for one loved the first Killzone. The only problem I had with it was that it wasn't always clear what you had to do to proceed. Guerilla has came a long way since then..

WE NEED SUPPORT !! Gosh i still rembemer shouting this outloud during class good times, but yes GG has come a long way i still believe( probably the only guy who does) that KZ is the best and most underrated FPS series this generation. All other shooters are just overrated so bad it isn't even funny BF3, halo, etc.. it just isn't fair, but i do hope KZ4 gets all the few mistakes from previous ones to make the best KZ and sum online Co op wud be nice.

It's great to see Sony releasing PS2 games that didn't gain enough attention last generation now on the Playstation Store. Still, I'd much rather see PS2 games remade in HD instead. PS2 games on an HD television look awful nowadays without higher resolution.

Give me a Ratchet & Clank HD collection, Kingdom Hearts HD collection, Dark Cloud HD collection, Viewtiful Joe HD collection, Grand Theft Auto HD collection, Max Payne HD collection, and Hitman HD collection (there are more I want in HD but too many to list).

Some games I think though that would be perfect for the Playstation 2 classics though (since they’ll never meet enough demand for HD remakes) include Dragon Quest VIII, Radiata Stories, Red Dead Revolver, Rise of the Kasai, Rogue Galaxy, Shadow of Destiny, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, The Mark of Kri, The Suffering, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria and the Xenosaga trilogy. I know people would go crazy for those titles.

THey should release an HD upgrade of Indingo Prophecy(Farenheit), Quantic Dream's first game...for us Heavy Rain fans. While they're at it, they should release more DLC for Heavy Rain.
