ICO, Shadow Of The Colossus Become New PSN Legends
We ardently hope Fumito Ueda finishes The Last Guardian. And we absolutely adored the high-definition beauty found in the ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection.
But maybe you'd rather revel in the original artistic gorgeousness. A day after announcing Killzone for the PSN, Sony has another great announcement: both ICO and Shadow of the Colossus will hit the Network on January 17!
They can be downloaded for $19.99 each, which is essentially the cost of a Greatest Hit PS2 title back in the day. If you missed out, these are two of the most revered and accomplished productions of the previous generation; both are epitomes of creativity and artistic inspiration, and both deliver memorable adventures. We'd probably recommend the HD Collection for $39.99 - as that makes more sense to us - but more greatness on the PSN is always appreciated.

Some people like to say that the PSN (and downloadable retailers in general) never has any deals and always has every game for full price, but that's simply nit true. Just like any other retailer, it has great deals on some games, but doesn't for other games.

This is actually a pretty confusing move to me. If Sony was going to put forth the effort of converting these games to a digital format, why wouldn't they use the superior HD versions, which were already available?

I knew these two games would eventually release on the Playstation Store (Sony seems to be beefing up the Playstation Network lately). Jak and Daxter HD downloads will be next. Guaranteed.
Hopefully Sony offers one of (or both of) these two as a free Playstation Plus offer. I already have the disc but playing either one from my hard drive would be awesome.
