Resident Evil 6: A New Threat Invades On November 20

The hints and rumors have had everyone on edge, and now the official announcement is finally here. Rejoice!

Capcom has revealed Resident Evil 6, which will hit store shelves for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 20 (PC version comes later). The game will be set a decade after the events that defined Raccoon City, and returning protagonist Leon S. Kennedy will be at the president's side at the start of the adventure. Unfortunately, bioterrorists change everything in a hurry. Even the president become a zombie.

The other side of the story involves another familiar face: Chris Redfield, who is part of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance. He's in China, facing a similar outbreak, and everyone assumes Chris and Leon will come together at some point. Capcom says we can also expect new characters as well. The lead designer for this project is Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who has worked on Resident Evil 4, Killer7 and Dragon's Dogma.

Oh come on, you're excited. Admit it. That looks pretty freakin' epic, and we just have to hope the demanding fans will be satisfied. They upgraded the gameplay mechanics to reflect a modern era of third-person shooting, right? ...right?

Looks awesome, but the '6' logo is horrendous. It looks like a giraffe in a kinky position with some other unknown shape.

Yes!!! I am very excited. Everything looks great. That trailer has way more Resident Evil atmosphere than the entire RE5 game ever did. I like it. It looks like Capcom has been working hard.

I was wondering throughout the whole video if Ashley would make a return... idk why but I was just curious. Looks like a major revamping. No more survival horror; now its action/survival.

I think the new character (the mercenary guy) looks like he could be interesting and fun to play with especially in this new revamped environment. Still, I'm a little reserved on hopping on board.

It looks like there trying to make leon's campaign horror, while the other 2 have a action campaign but it looks more like survival. Still need more info though.

Got to admit that I am pretty darn excited. Truthfully, I dont mind an overabundance of action if the atmosphere is creepy and I constantly feel as if death is knocking at my doorstep. Hopefully they can pull off the first epic Resident Evil this gen. Also, a little food for thought:

soon as i saw this earlier today i was freaking out. i'm really interested in what their saying about the story. trailer is phenomenal. and best of all my hero leon s kennedy is back! hasn't been a bad resident evil with him so you know it'll kickass! can't wait!

You know what I loved about that trailer the lighting! The game seemed very dark in comparison to RE5. It looks like it could actually be quite scary. I pressume you'll be switching back from Leon to Chris's team.
I have to admit I liked the look of Leons Scenario better, but the latter was still impressive. Yes this has actually restored faith in Resident Evil for me, which is avery impressive thing to do.

I ask you this, who honestly wants that Racoon City nonsense after seeing this?!

I agree!!!The production values are very good. The lighting and overall atmosphere is great. I definitely felt some strong horror vibes coming from Leon's sections. The new guy seems to have some type of problem with BOWs so I'm thinking his part takes place in some type of pharmaceutical facility. Ashley Graham and Nemesis appear to be involved in his sections somehow. Maybe the big pharma facility is set in Twin Oaks and the story intertwines with Leon's. Finally we get to Chris who could not have picked a worse place on the planet to visit during a viral outbreak.

Yes this looks like it is light years ahead of that Racoon City game that is being made by a very medicore western developer that released an almost broken SOCOM game. Ofcourse I am talking about Slant Six.

Me , i m excited for it ( operation raccoon city) . I m to the point where i stopped hoping for a return to survival horror and instead just hope they will ( upcoming resident evil games ) end up good games .

Hopefully without anymore babysitting stuff .

I must had that seeing no guanados and instead zombies and monsters reminiscent of the good old resident evil games sure made the action oriented gameplay still in easier to digest .

What's cool about Operation Racoon City is that it's not a part of the main RE series. ORC is equal to Half-Life Blue Shift and Metal Gear Solid Revengeance. I wouldn't even worry about ORC and just enjoy it for what it is. RE6 looks epic and I am really excited for it!

It looks pretty frickin' sweet! I gotta say, even though it looks much more actiony, as long as it pulls that off well and has a good RE story, then I'll be thoroughly pleased.

I do however hope that even though the game will be brimmed with action there will still be horror esque parts. Kind of like RE4 started off quite horrific in the village and then slowly turned towards action, I believe they should do it this one.

Hmm, this interests me. Seems like the gameplay may be quite different between the characters. More importantly, they're finally bringing the zombies back. RE4 and 5 felt just wrong with those god damned plagas

At first im like Leon as main again :P Then i saw Chris and the new char.

This one gets a thumbs up. Lots of ppl have been complaining about 4 and 5 because of the zombie and the story.

What i really like is that the gameplay started evolving with 4 and you didnt feel exactly like you do steering a tank when moving your char around for one thing lol.

I'm pretty sure ill have lots of fun with 6 as well.
