Get Ready, Final Fantasy XIII-3 May Be A Foregone Conclusion
Looking past Final Fantasy XIII-2 and waiting on Final Fantasy XIV might not be the best idea.
First of all, Square Enix still needs to produce Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Secondly, according to Gaming Everything citing the Game Informer review of FFXIII-2, it seems another sequel is "inevitable." Yeah, that's right.
After calling the storyline "laughable and insulting," the critic said that upon completing the game, you're likely to see the words "to be continued," regardless of which ending you get (there are multiple conclusions). And the thing is, despite all the downloadable content planned for the title, what's left hanging in the air probably can't be handled by simple DLC. Here's the quote:
"To make matters worse, you aren’t even getting a complete story. The canonical ending (there are multiple other ‘what if’ endings) concludes with the words ‘to be continued’ and it’s not a scenario likely to be resolved with future DLC. After the credits, I sat in disbelief, wondering if I had done something wrong or somehow missed the true ending. I didn’t. Square Enix intentionally left the story incomplete. The announcement of Final Fantasy XIII-3 is inevitable."
You know, at least Square knew enough to stop after FFX-2 (not that that was a bad game). As for FFXIII-2, I've been playing it for approximately five hours now and although I won't have the review done for this weekend (embargo up tomorrow), there's something I will do- I'm going to make a thread in the forums that outlines the changes and enhancements this title features as compared to its predecessor. The fans need to know.

I actually think it fits the game but I'm probably in the minority.

And OMG you lucky SOB. I've been drooling over that Transformer Prime since day one. It's a beauty like no other. Perfection, signed by ASUS.
Oh btw Qubex, if you want to share tips and experiences with games and other apps for Android head over to the forums and we'll make a thread about Droid goodies!
Nowadays we are all challenging each other in Wordfeud over there. I lose. A lot.

Yes, who else would do this but your parents. So they have both received very special hugs and a big thank you. It was gifted to me at a top class Italian restaurant, with the staff all gathering around to sing a belated birthday song. I was very embarrassed, but then the whole restaurant joined in as well... it was surreal with the Parma Hams hanging lazily down from the ceiling witnessing all of this.
Great fun... A 32Gb micro SD card was also thrown in for good measure, bringing the beast up to a staggering 64Gb of solid state goodness, and the keyboard dock was also gifted... did not know what hit me...
Talking of an amazing Android platformer you guys need to check out gameplay videos of Corby. Its a Little Big Planet ripoff of sorts but damn good.
Also, if you want to see the Primes Tegra3 quad core processor and gpu being maxed out watch the Nvidia tech videos for Glowball 1 and Glowball 2. Pretty amazing.

No but really, SE did state so a while back, didn't they? That they wanted faster release schedule, annual releases etc.
This is just an incredibly stupid way of doing it. Who wants half a game, sort of (if what they say is true)?

I don't know how to take this.... seems.......... strange? Obviously going by what forumites say isn't a very good indicator of what everyone wants, but I've always been under the impression most people just want to get versus already.
Perhaps Versus continues the story? FFXIII-2 travels in time afterall...

This is actually getting ridiculous....I have so much rage right now but just don't have the energy to express it. Partially because I've almost come to expect such a stupid move from SE and partly because I'm suffering from the flu :(
I believe that this piece of info actually put me off wanting to purchase FF XIII-2 now.

We might as well just call this inevitable sequel FF16 instead of FF13-3. It makes a lot more sense than the absolutely retarded dual-number title and is probably the direction they'll be going before long (aka making sequels in this same universe instead of new stories every game).

Oh, wait, you're serious. IF Versus 13 doesn't come out well for me, then I'm completely done with SE. Let them toil away in their own little world until that day when sales fall flat on their face, and they're wondering what happened. Maybe the money piles will be low enough that they can see their computer screens by then, and realize that OH WOW, we don't want this crap. We want Final Fantasy. Not an action "RPG".

No one on Earth wants a sequel to this game. If this rumor is true, I'll be flabbergasted. Stupefied, even. It is the worst decision they could possibly make right now.

You make another sequel for an FF game few people want, which will most likely delay FF Vs XIII AGAIN!! AND you are concentrating resources on an MMO (FF XIV) which from what I am aware of is desired by almost nobody!!
Here are what the fans want:
1. Final Fantasy VS XIII by the end of 2012 or in early 2013
2. Kingdom Hearts 3
3. A Final Fantasy VII HD remake for the PS3 or PS4
4. A Final Fantasy game (maybe FF XV) that returns to the series' RPG roots, deep and meaningful story, breathtaking graphics and CG, and beautiful orchestral soundtracks that emphasize the mood created within these masterpieces.
That's it!!!!
No more FF XIII part whatever games, forget the MMO, it failed, face it!!! No more Kingdom Hearts or FF games on freakin' handhelds!!!
Concentrate your resources on the major franchises for the major consoles and actually LISTEN to what the fans want!!!
If there are any other suggestions anyone would like to add to mine, feel free. :)
I only wish Square Enix board members and managers could see this.

S-E's stupid new mentality has almost killed the FF franchise for me. I still remember getting ridiculously excited when they announced FF VIII after I'd played FF VII, couldn't stop smiling for a week!!! :)
