Minecraft Creator To Schafer: "Let's Make Psychonauts 2 Happen"
Last week, we learned that Tim Schafer really tried to sell Psychonauts 2. But he could never find a backer and as he told Digital Spy, he needs someone to pony up a million bucks to make the project happen. Yeah, a million.
And suddenly, Schafer might have his financial angel. It's Markus "Notch" Persson, creator of Minecraft and most certainly a millionaire; he tossed up a Tweet that got everyone talking:
"Let's make Psychonauts 2 happen."
He added, "Also, I'm serious." Not long after, various sources (including Giant Bomb) reported that Schafer's team, Double Fine, is actually talking to Notch about the possibility of making a Psychonauts sequel. Schafer and Persson might get together and talk at the upcoming Game Developer's Conference...wow.
But there's a caveat, as there always is- "Anyway, please don't get your hopes too high yet. Everything is extremely vague!" Hard to not be excited when we hear this; we've been begging for a Psychonauts 2 for years, and we're hardly the only ones.

Despite cult status, I don't think too many people played Psychonauts last generation (which is a given judging by sales). Introduce it to a new audience and then give us the sequel we've been waiting 7 years to play!!
