Leaked European Trailer Reveals Far Cry 3 Release Date?
Many will say Far Cry 2 is one of the best games of the generation, as it brilliantly combined open-world immersion with intense first-person action.
And those fans have been anxiously awaiting news of the third installment ever since. While this isn't official, it's definitely a good sign: AllGamesBeta got their hands on a leaked European trailer for Far Cry 3, which says it'll be available in that region on September 6.
Since the time of the report, Ubisoft has pulled the video from YouTube for obvious reasons; i.e., they're not ready to reveal anything about the game just yet. Far Cry 3 will put players into the role of Jason Brody, who is stranded on a tropical island (sound familiar?). He'll have to survive a world that has "lost all sense of morality" and to do that, our brave protagonist might have to get downright animalistic...
The anticipated sequel is currently in development at Ubisoft Montreal; here's hoping they produce another memorable Far Cry adventure. And if that September 6 date is accurate, maybe North American gamers will see it on September 3, as is par for the course for most games. Then again, Ubisoft HQ is in Europe, so maybe the US will actually get it later...

As Beamboom stated, the amount of freedom the game gave was incredible, but that was about it. It was just so dang repetitive. Drive down a path, get on turret and kill people. Keep driving, run into enemy, jump on turret and kill more people. Drive to destination, get objective, drive, run into people etc... There's a little more to it then what I said, but you get the idea.
It was a good idea, but it was terribly executed imo. Also, I can barely remember the story. [spoiler alert] The part where the bar was burning down was really the only part I remember. [end spoiler alert] I do, however, hope that FC3 is much better. The story looks intriguing and that alone warrants my attention.

still staring at that water man its beautiful!
sad to hear the fire tech and damage system wont be back, those were the best parts of FC2!
it was so cool setting 1 blade of grass on fire and watching it turn into a massive inferno!
pulling bullets out of your arm with a pocket knife really made me cringe!
sigh.
whats with developers lately, and removing the best features out of games?

Far Cry 2 was a very special game in my book. Not without flaws, sure, but the awesome freedom of choice of tactics on how to solve the different missions were really something special. Every time I think about FC2 I'm right back in the bushes on the outskirts, surveying an area planning my attack.
I just hope they change the visuals on how we replenish health. Those syringes were gross.
