Persona 4 Arena Heats Up This Summer
Usually, when you say the name "Persona," traditional role-playing fans get all attentive.
But this time, the title will refer to an all-out fighting game. Atlus has announced that Persona 4 Arena, "the highly anticipated fighting spin-off of the award-winning Persona series," is coming to North America this summer for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Developed with the aid of the fighting experts at Arc System Works (BlazBlue), Persona 4 Arena will utilize beautiful hand-drawn, high-definition 2D characters and "colorful, over-the-top special effects." As you might expect, popular characters from the franchise in question will be involved in the royal rumble, and it's all powered by "an original, hardcore fighting engine." Said Atlus Vice President of Sales and Marketing Tim Pivnicny:
"The Persona series has had tremendous success in North America, and Persona 4 in particular opened the series up to wider audiences than ever before. Now we're looking to expand Persona even further by teaming up with a very strong partner, Arc System Works, to move the franchise outside of the RPG genre and develop its potential in new and exciting ways."
While RPG fans patiently await the official announcement of a new Persona RPG, the fighting aficionados should appreciate this. For more information, feel free to visit the game's website.
