DICE Working On Big Patch For BF3

If you've been playing Battlefield 3 online and have complained about a host of annoying problems, fear not: DICE has listened.

One of last year's best is getting a major patch at some point in the near future; we don't know exactly when, but the full list of tweaks and updates can be found at the Battlelog.

Everything you see there is currently scheduled for the PS3, 360, and PC versions of the game. The patch will address issues facing multiple aspects of the experience, ranging from weapons and weapon accessories to game types. For instance, guided rockets will only track ground targets, players won't incur damage from short falls, and there will be some spawn problems fixed in the team deathmatch and squad deathmatch modes. As of now, the list isn't quite complete and DICE may have more to add.

Battlefield 3 has also experienced connection and lag issues, but these seem to be limited to the PS3 version. For now, DICE is looking to release this general patch that will clear up gameplay-related issues for everyone involved. We'll let you know when it's ready.

Nice. I'd say overall there aren't that many issues. It's a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Alot of people complain but DICE has been really good about addressing issues and bugs.

Wow, that's a massive amount of fixes. DICE is great at listening to their fans, it seems.

Why such a big patch? The 2nd BIG patch too. Why wasn't this game in better shape when it was released? Who Beta tested this game? Stevie Wonder? Or a bunch of idiots? Once again, there's no standards when it comes to video games. NONE. Just release and patch. Collect tons of money and TRY to fix a BUNCH of problem that should have never been there in the 1st place. This generation of "Gamers" is to blame for putting up with this crap. I for one don't accept it at all. But the thumbs down to my many post only proves my point about this generation of "Gamers". Keep buyin into the yearly HYPE fellow gamers. SUCKERS..

Nah the thumbs down only mean YOU are the *SUCKER* XD. Gave you one since you are kinda asking for it.

I agree with the start of your post though. Games tend to be too buggy on release. But most of the points they are fixing in this patch are gameplay adjustments asked by players. I do not think it is wrong to release patches to improve experience (especially when it is free) instead of just waiting for a next Battle Field and have you fork another 60$

so let me get this straight.....they are in the wrong for being on top of issues as they arise and fix them when needed?

Wow...

God forbid you go into the BF3 forums and post anything about the BUGS in BF3. Those idiots in there will make all kinds of excuses for the obvious problems that you post about. They'll call ya names, ect, ect. The funny thing is that my post were about the same problems that DICE is trying to fix NOW. Whatever idiots..All this generation of "Gamers" wants to do is Hack,Exploit, and otherwise Cheat at EVERY game they can. Wanna make BILLONS? Make a game that allows them to Hack,Exploit, and Glitch. And reward them for doing so. You'll be rich beyond your wildest dreams.

Hey, here's a thought- maybe the reason they call you an idiot isn't because of the problems you mention, but because of your freakin' hostile, lame-ass attitude. As in, calling everyone morons for enjoying a game, and you're the only one smart enough to not get "taken in." What BS.

Take it down a notch. NOW.

I haven't had any problems. It was a bit laggy at first but once I opened the proper ports on my router, the game runs as smooth as butter.

wow... dude seems entirely way too upset. It's not always up to the developer when the game releases. There are deadlines that they have to meet and i'm sure they can't always get everything that they'd want into the release. Plus betas only have a fraction of the amount of players that are currently playing bf3 online. There's really no way you could find every single bug with such a limited amount of people playing the beta build. Lighten up, geez. At least they are listening to the fans and trying to make it better. They could just leave it the way it is and make people uber p****ed.

And besides, with the beta, there's only so much feedback they can get, considering only a few guns, 1 map and 1 match type are offered. The rest is locked until the full release comes out.

Im one of those who got cursed with severe input lag (not internet lag - my PS3 is hard wired and DMZ'd) that makes the game near unplayable. Went out and bought the xbox version - zero input lag - which is really annoying as my buddies play on PS3. Really hoping they fix this in the patch and not just spout the obvious stuff like put your tv in gaming mode etc

I love the fact that they are adamant about fixing and tweaking their games as issues arise. If something is too good and needs a fix or too weak and needs a buff, they look at it fairly and try their best to go about it in a way that won't alienate either side of the issue

now THIS is how you support your game!
GG you listening?
you dont just release your game, then leave it for dead!
killzone 3 had awesome MP, even better then 2!
then they go support it like a pram night dumpster baby.
shame.

FYI, BigStack decided to insult me and everyone here again, rather than admit he's just a BigPrick.

Gone.
