The Amazing Spider-Man Defends Manhattan On June 26
Although they aren't to the level of Rocksteady's Batman titles, the Spider-Man games this generation have been decent.
In fact, some have been quite good; Shattered Dimensions - pictured here - was definitely one of the more accomplished superhero adventures at the time. Therefore, we're happy to hear that according to Game Informer, the newest Spidey quest will be in stores on June 26.
It's The Amazing Spider-Man and the story is an epilogue to the film of the same name, which hits theaters on July 3. Yeah, the epilogue comes out before the main story; it's weird, but we can deal with it. In the game, players can roam around a nicely detailed Manhattan, doing good deeds, and battling "a variety of criminals." The plot is penned by "Battlestar Galactica" writer Seamus Kevin Fahey.
In development at Activision's Quebec City studio, Beenox, the title will be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 Wii, 3DS and DS. You're already familiar with Beenox if you've played any of the recent Spider-Man installments this generation. Here's hoping we get another solid, entertaining title.

But UA2 were catastrophically bad. *Every* single thing that made the above two titles good were dumbed down in UA2. And well, from then on it's went straight downhill.
Man this entire story about the Marvel games makes me wanna cry. Hey MARVEL, you fools! Make games for your fans, the geek crowd, not for the kids! Us geeks are all you've got left!

best in the series!
the cliché of movie based games is pretty much dead, last years spiderman finally killed that.
that was not a movie based game, stood all on its own and it sucked!
xmen origins wolverine was a movie based game and it was one of the best superhero games weve ever had!
same with captain america, a movie based game that actually was pretty good.

im sorry, but i have about as much confidence in beenox as i do a dead bird!
the best game they ever released was not exactly stellar, so i wont be buying this.
oh what i would give to see rocksteady working on a spiderman game!
i mean come on out of all the superheroes out there, he has by far the most potential!
i mean hes fast, which would make for awesome combat, theres always been a deep story with the series, interesting characters and villains, lead themselves so well to varied boss fights, and who does not want to swing around NYC!?

But... "Roam around" you say? Ergo, something along the lines of Web Of Shadows? Well... The other part of me will probably never give up hoping for a really good Marvel game. Maybe *this* time they will succeed. Maybe?
