Zone Of The Enders HD Collection Storms Onto Shelves This Fall

If you ask action fans to name a couple of the more under-appreciated titles from the PS2 era, they're likely to list both Zone of the Enders installments.

Praised by critics, they sort of remained cult hits, despite some decent sales. The good news is that both are returning in high-definition glory on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and we finally have an estimated launch date: fall 2012.

Konami has announced the release window for the Zone of the Enders HD Collection, which includes both the original and sequel, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner. The titles in question will be "fully remastered" and this is the second HD pack to be released by Konami; the first was the well-received Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, which, as you might expect, is a must for fans of the legendary franchise.

Rumors persist about Zone of the Enders 3, which may or may not eventually arrive. Hideo Kojima has several mystery projects up his sleeve; we continue to wait with bated breath.

P.S. Also, bear in mind that the Silent Hill HD Collection, slated to arrive on March 6, has been delayed until March 20.

Never got a chance to play either of these. If they have a demo, maybe I can see what the cult fuss is all about.

Anybody here reccomend these as 8.5-9+ game to play?

Any chance an HD remake would get a demo? I still need an idea of the gameplay before i buy it.

Finally, an HD collection that isn't all games I already own.

I would also love a demo, but thanks to Biker for digging up the videos.

I recently replayed ZoE, I have to admit it is not as good as I remember at all. The basic combat mechanics are great and I generally liked the story. But the enviroments just feel bland, yes they're interactive, but not varied at all. Also the objectives just feel flat, the only time something got exciting was at the boss battles - Oh and last area of the game (Trying to avoid spoilers.)

As for ZoE2, I never played it. TBH I doubt I ever will as the PS2 version is still a rarity in the UK and after playing ZoE1 again I'm not really encouraged to.

Zone of Enders the second runner is one of my favorite games of all time. And I didn't much care for the first one. I agree with you about the environments in the first one but you should definitely not let that spoil you from enjoying the second one.

wonder how many delays this will suffer before it finally releases!
seriously, how many times has the silent hill HD colection been delayed?
10?
more?
im really starting to hate konami, every single game they release latley is delayed to kingdom come!
like the MGS HD collection, released in JP and US, then EU had to wait several months, then the day of the supposed release they silently delay it again.
no press release, no announcements, just went into EB to collect it and was told sorry it got delayed again.
what, how can you delay a game THE DAY of release!?
konami has now become my most hated publisher!

There has been whispers (most likely bs) that SH Collection is getting delayed to fit SH4 The Room into the current bundle.

The fact that this is called a collection with only two of the SH games from the PS2 is laughable, add Origins or even a code to unlock SH from the PSN & you could call it a collection, right now it's simply a double pack.

if they were they would not have a new date.
upgrading games for HD takes a good 6+ months, the GOW collection if i remember right the devs said took them 8 monts.
id be nice to have extra games in the collection, but id rather them just release it as it is and add extras later on.
been WAY too long since i played a proper survival horror game!
