Bioshock Infinite: Join The Floating Chaos On October 16

Next to Grand Theft Auto V, this has got to be our most anticipated title of 2012 (assuming The Last Of Us won't make it this year).

2K Games has revealed that Bioshock Infinite will launch for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 16 in North America and October 19 internationally.

The floating futuristic city of Columbia is a drastic change from the underwater environments of the past two entries, but we guarantee that wherever we are, Irrational Games will make the setting memorable. This is an alternate 20th-century reality where what was once an Eden among the clouds is now in chaos. The game's protagonist, Booker DeWitt, is a former member of the Pinkerton National Detective Agency, the country's largest security company in the late 19th century. Now he's in a world where robots rule and the remaining human civilians are rebelling.

Yes, it looks like yet another autumn is shaping up to be nuts.

So exactly what high profile games are guaranteed to launch in the fall again? It would seem I'm not keeping up with gaming news like I should. But yeah, Fall time is always tough for hardcore gamers anyway.

Well, at least Borderland 2 and that Lara Croft reboot is due to the autumn too isn't it?

The first two are awesome. Kinda cool that the original Bioshock comes with the PS3 version of Infinite.

thers been news and hype on this game for like 2 years now... god when i first heard it like last year this time i think i thought it wud come out by last year but no its this year
same for that rage game it was the news so long and talked about i thought it came out 2 months before it actualy came out
NEW IDEA-developers create a realistic release date, create the game then advertise it, and DONT change the release date

Good thing you're not an FF fan, waiting for Versus!

Or maybe you are, and I can understand your frustration.

Consider it preordered baby. Bioshock is the greatest thing to happen to FPS.

Hey, how about a System Shock HD collection? I never got a chance to play those.

Between AC 3 and BioShock Infinite, there's lots of American history goodness this October.

Cant wait to play this game, finished the first one 3 weeks ago and it was amazing, so with this news it means that GTA V is not coming out this year?

While the publisher (Take-Two) *might* want to time the two games (and Max Payne 3) so they're not in direct competition for shelf space, the developers are completely separate, so one should not affect the other.
