Assassin's Creed III Becomes Official
Yeah, we sorta already knew but now it's official.
Today, Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed III will hit store shelves on October 30, 2012 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC, and as reported earlier, the setting will be colonial America and the Revolutionary War.
With a development cycle spanning 3+ years and twice the production capacity of any previous Ubisoft title, the third entry in this critically acclaimed franchise boasts a new hero who goes by the name Ratohnhaké:ton (good luck pronouncing that). Going by the simpler name of Connor, he has both Native American and English roots, and he becomes part of the age-old war between Assassins and the Templars. The press release says the title will feature "the most stylized and fluid combat" to date, and the landscape will be huge, ranging from "untamed frontier to bustling colonial towns and the intense, chaotic battlefields where George Washington's Continental Army clashed with the imposing British Army."
The game will also sport a brand new engine; AnvilNext, which "delivers breakthroughs in visual quality, character models and artificial intelligence." We said it when we first heard about and we'll say it again: we're stoked.

If they were going to do ANYTHING in America time period wise, would have been better off bringing it more forward to the Industrial age or just present day New York.
I will give Ubi the smarts on a good business decision to cater to American audiences and most likely Ametican 360 owners, but they are definitely going to lose the rest of the world to some degree.
I will pass this game and wait for the next series which I hope will take us to China or Japan. Now there's rich culture and history.

Well lets say the bad ass Empire seemed to do well in Canada. lol. Especially with the War of 1812 in North America, and having to deal with the absolutely wonderfully nice French in Europe... Napolean I think his name was.
Makes me wonder what the real reasons were the original creators of the AC series left, other than money from other companies of course.
Granted they have only shown us I am sure a fraction of the game, killing evil British soldiers and their armies.
Yes the seasons aspect of it is okay, how it will be implemented not sure. Actually makes me wonder if the country side environment will be much like Red Dead Redemption.
The "Braveheart" reference is in regards not so much what slave owning George Washington said but just how it was presented. It reminded me of the not so accurate portrayal of William Wallace by Mel Gibson. lol. :P
Anyway, if the story if your thing, I am happy for you. Its always nice to have a variety of games to meet different peoples taste.
Like I said before. My hope is they go to China/Japan for the next series. With a little sidetrack to Tibet, and a long good stretch in India. :)

WTF does that have to do with assassins creed!?
am i the only one who is a little worried about the story in this?
through the whole AC series we have been fighting the templars, and now the enemies are the brits?
sorry, but this looks as much assassins creed as resident evil 5 looked resident evil!

I.e. the weapon would have a trigger guard so he would have to manually squueze the trigger which he didnt do. The rest of the video looks cool, although I could do without the cheesy dialogue.
