FFXIII-2 Update: Jihl Nabaat DLC, New Lightning Episode
Okay, so you've got Lightning. Congrats. But the challenges in the Coliseum are only just beginning...
We had heard about this earlier, but now it's official: as revealed at the Square Enix Members website, the new Jihl Nabaat downloadable content for Final Fantasy XIII-2 will arrive next week. Remember her?
If you had forgotten your FFXIII history, Jihl quickly became a Lieutenant Colenal of PSICOM (Public Safety and Intelligence Command), and was most definitely not an ally of Lightning and Co. In fact, Jihl was ruthless and cruel and as most villains tend to do, basically got in the way. So next week, you'll be able to take her down in the Coliseum and if you can manage it, you can add her to your Monster list...yep, she'll be available to put in your party.
However, beating Lightning and Amodar was no easy task, and we're willing to bet Jihl Nabaat will be one tough customer. Also, fair warning for the uninitiated: you can't just beat her; you have to beat her and get her to drop her crystal. ...took me five or six tries to get Lightning. Also, one final piece of news: a new episode entitled "Lightning's Story: Requiem of the Goddess" is "coming soon." Maybe that will help ease some of the sting of that ending I really didn't like.
Oh, and the Jihl DLC should come in at $2.99 (same price for the Lightning/Amodar DLC). No word yet on how much this new episode will cost, though.

And you increase your chances of getting a crystal if you deal the killing blow with your Feral Link. In fact, it's basically the only way to get the crystal with rare monsters, unless you plan on trying it a hundred times.

Yes, I was googling on how to get lightning, as it was driving me crazy.. as for the first around 20 times, I didn't kill her w/ a feral link.. i did use a feral link during the battle however.. i even tried killing her w/ a ultimate arrow and javelin... which got me some item called something cross, which subtracts my HP... and for the last 10 times i was trying, I did kill lightning with a feral link and finally got her after more than 10 times.. From what i read, its all based on luck. drop rate was like 7 percent..
and to get amador, he should be killed last, also with a feral link to increase chances.

Using the Feral Link during battle won't do anything for you; it has to deal the killing blow. And it is luck, but it greatly increases your chances. That percentage you see when you do the button prompts during the Link? The higher it is, the better the chances are that the monster will drop its crystal upon dying.

I will get the Nabaat DLS and the Lightning story episode based on the fact that I already spent 90+ hours to have platinumed it, might as well get it. I flet Nabaat is a cool female character in FF13 however her presence in the game was short lived, so I'd like to have her in the party

So to be on the safe side, I made sure to kill lightning last after I made up my mind I'm willing to get her. I did not use feral links for the killing blow. (this is where I managed to get my 99,999 damage trophy)
At the end it was somewhat worth it, but the whole idea rubbed me the wrong way.

I wouldn't mind bonus costumes, weapons, armor, monsters, or other such optional stuff. But I really find it incredulous that the story for Lightning has been relegated to a DLC when she is such an important character.
Just my two cents worth.
