Crytek Teases Big-Budget Project
Okay, so it probably isn't a new TimeSplitters. But that dream will never die here at PSXE...
In speaking to CVG, Crytek GM of games, Nick Button-Brown, said his studio was ready to unveil a "spectacular" new game for consoles and PC, and it's "the best of that kind of project we've ever done." This comes not long after the developer said they plan to jump into the mobile and free-to-play areas of gaming. Still, Crytek isn't abandoning big-budget AAA designs for major platforms.
Said Button-Brown:
"A big part of our business is big budget console and PC games. We are doing all these other things, but they're on top of that and we're doing them because they're interesting. We still want to deliver the highest quality that we can, wherever we go. You know about Homefront, you know about Ryse. We are working on another project... [laughs] all three of which are looking really good."
He went on to say the game looks amazing and the team is doing "really, really well." The reason we mention TimeSplitters is because after Crytek acquired former TS developer Free Radical (a studio that was forced to shut its doors after the Haze debacle), they became Crytek UK. And if you've absorbed the team that made TimeSplitters, well...
But that isn't it. No, we don't dare to hope. We'll just have to wait for the announcement...be patient, peeps.

crytek did a fantastic job with crysis 2 but i cant see them wringing much more out of the aging systems.
crysis has always been a buy word for amazing tech, and im just not convinced they can do that justice with current systems.
do a new IP or something, anything but crysis 3 until the next systems are out.
