Ratchet & Clank Collection Confirmed
Ratchet & Clank is an enduring PlayStation franchise that absolutely deserves a high-definition collection.
And as it turns out, the rumors and semi-official news was all true: In celebration of the dynamic duo's 10th anniversary, Sony has announced the Ratchet & Clank Collection.
It includes Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, all remastered by Idol Minds, a team that is "working closely" with original series developer, Insomniac. The Collection boasts beautiful 1080p HD, 3D support, plus three Platinum Trophies; one for each title. As an additional bonus, they're tossing in online multiplayer for the latest of the three games, Up Your Arsenal, which is great news for those who want to get everything they can out of the new R&C experience.
The Ratchet & Clank Collection is slated to release this fall in North America. It'll be available in the spring in Europe but that's because they've got "something very special planned" for the North American fans. Any guesses as to what it could be? What more could we ask for, really? This is one of the most critically acclaimed and beloved franchises of the past ten years!

I am as big a fan as anyone in North America and I don't think i should be penalised for living elsewhere.
But that's the only problem i have with this release and May 17 can't come fast enough.

I'm not sure even an HD collection of Shenmue would get me though, I went back to play those games that were so revolutionary at the time and they are just soooo dated it's hard to make the transition. We need a part 3.

Sometimes I think that SCEA is now run by morons, Kaz should bring someone in who knows something about games.

Maybe WKC2 wasn't as financially probable to them (SCEA), how did the first one do commercially, and how did WKC2 stack up with D3?
I'm sure your well aware that the Euro is much better off against the Yen then the dollar is, so American publishing branches are much more hesitant to jump on niche Japanese titles. Similar to the situation you see with Nintendo of America, and their whole situation with the Big 3 (Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower).
I was kind of skeptical when I saw D3 was publishing the second installment, now I wonder if Level 5 will ever collaborate with Sony again in the future.
