First Free DLC For Operation Raccoon City: Jill vs. Nemesis
Seems we can't have a big game launch without downloadable content on the horizon. And hey, extra stuff is a good thing.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City hits store shelves next week (March 20), and Capcom has confirmed the game's first batch of DLC, which should appeal to long-time franchise followers.
It's a new mission that puts you in control of Special Ops soldiers, and you will revisit the events of Resident Evil 3. Remember Jill Valentine going up against the seemingly invincible Nemesis? I still remember having to get the hell away from that thing whenever it showed up early on...either move or die. I'm sure it'll be a little different this time around, though, as Operation Raccoon City isn't survival/horror; it's third-person, squad-based shooter by SOCOM developer Slant Six.
Anyway, this DLC will be available on April 10 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 so if you're planning to pick up the new action title next week, you might also want to plan on picking up the Jill/Nemesis mission. Especially 'cuz it's free. Either that, or you can wait for Resident Evil 6 in November. It's not really old-fashioned survival/horror, either, but at least it isn't squad-based.

What really bothers me though, is some of the fanbase for the RE series. Yeah, it's a new style of RE, but so was RE4 when it came out, and most of you love that, despite it pretty much killing off the RE series for others, and for good reasons, so explain why you're so upset over this being a.... "tactical shooter"?, well whatever it is.

Meh, it's business, but it's unfortunate that a lot of DLCs are not really "extras," which in my definition is something that takes considerable, additional effort AFTER the game's launch time. 1-2 weeks doesn't sound like extra to me.
