I Am Alive PSN-Bound On April 3
I Am Alive is currently available on the Xbox Live Arcade...but how come it didn't hit the PlayStation Network?
Well, we're not really sure, but at least we have a new release date for the PS3 version: Ubisoft has announced that it's April 3 for North America and a day later for European territories.
It'll likely cost $14.99 and it is one of the most anticipated downloadable games of the year. I Am Alive didn't begin as a digital-only title, though; it was initially designed as a full-budget disc-based adventure, and some are a little leery of the change. However, while the scores seem to be all over the place for the 360 version (as low as a 4.5 and as high as a 9), there are many who seem to really enjoy the unique and gritty style. We'll certainly be looking forward to playing, as the concept definitely intrigues us.
By the way, there may not be a PC version as the game's creative director, Stanislas Mattra, has already said the likelihood of piracy makes turning a profit "uncertain." Happy now, pirates?

In fact the graphics look nothing like the 1st trailer from way back when it was still a disc-based game.
And I'll bet the graphics would have remained the original way if they hadn't gone D/L only.

they do realise XBLA and PSN games get pirated too right?
in fact steam makes it a hell of allot harder to pirate games then what the others do!
you can only have a steam account registered to a certain number of systems, and if you log in on a new one you have to have access to that email address to retrieve a activation code.
does PSN and XBLA do that?
NOPE!
if i had a nickle for every account i saw online for sale for 10 bucks including 100s of game downloads id be a multi billionaire by now!

I'm no PC gamer, but from what I read, Ubisoft isn't the kindest of developers when it comes to PC gaming. With strict DRM and poor title ports, I don't think piracy would have been an issue, people just wouldn't have supported the title anyway.
Anyway, I look forward to the game. I was a bit thrown off when it was announced that it'd switch over to digital distribution, thinking they'd taken away content or their confidence about the product wasn't on par with their initial ambition. Seeing how it turned out, however, I'm no longer worried. It looks great, and they delivered with the whole apocalypse setting and the mechanics.

Microsoft has deep pockets, or there are some 360 fanboy developers.
