Madden 13 Cover Vote: Will The Curse Dictate The Winner?
Last year, it was Peyton Hillis. ...where is he now?
But wait, maybe that's not the question. Last year, fans were able to vote for the player they most wanted to see on the cover of Madden NFL 12. That player turned out to be the Cleveland Browns running back, and many kudos to him for earning that honor.
But people were still a little surprised. I mean, Hillis was a great runner and everything but it seemed like the competition featured much more popular players. So how did it happen? Well, has anyone considered the obvious? That this seemingly very real Madden curse is a bad thing, and fans don't want their favorite players sidelined (maybe even permanently) just because they won the cover athlete vote? Personally, I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see a 14 or 15 seed on the cover.
By the way, the seeds come from the way EA is conducting the vote this year: One player from each team is entered into a March Madness-type ladder, and there are one-on-one matches to determine who moves forward. You can check out the grid over at SportsNation. Just don't vote for Patrick Willis. My Niners need him this year.
