Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling Resigns
We're sure he has his reasons.
Creative Strategist Robert Bowling, who has been a major player in the production of Activision's Call of Duty franchise, is leaving developer Infinity Ward.
Bowling made the announcement at his Twitter page, and it sort of came as a surprise to ardent franchise followers.
"Today, I resign from my position as Creative Strategist of Call of Duty, as a lead of Infinity Ward, and as an employee of Activision."
Bowling didn't offer any explanation as to why he is leaving Infinity Ward and Activision behind, but his now former studio did offer a Twitter update of their own. This doesn't really tell us anything, either, but it's the only official response we have at this point.
"We wish Robert all the best. Thanks for everything."
It'll be interesting to see who steps into Bowling's vacated role as we approach the inevitable announcement of this year's CoD project, which most assume will be Black Ops 2. Just bear in mind that it's Treyarch's job; Infinity Ward handled last year's Modern Warfare 3 and we don't know what they might be working on now. Modern Warfare 4...? Well, possibly.

he probably couldent leave then because he was still under contract.
oh well, almost the whole team has left now!
i wouldent be surprised to see the whole raven software team being folded into IW.
which would be a massive shame because that team has allot of potential!
one of THE most under appreciated developers out there!
their last 2 games wolfenstein and especially singularity were actually really good!

To be frank though, he did promise things about the new COD that he didn't deliver on, and that's a surefire way to tick off fans.
