Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow Producer Hints At Sequel?

Yeah, we know you want it. And maybe, just maybe, your wish will be granted some time maybe this month.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was both well-received and popular and fans have been pining for a follow-up effort. The good news is that we've heard whispers of such a project from the game's developer.

Now, a reader has turned us onto Lords of Shadow producer David Cox's Twitter page, where he adds to the list of thinly veiled hints with the following update:

"Today and tomorrow I am in the land of Dracul… What am I doing there?? You will see…. :)"

Oh yes, thinly veiled indeed...unless Cox is actually in Transylvania for some bizarre reason. Oh wait...maybe he really is. But there's no doubt that when a Castlevania producer alludes to Count Dracula's hometown, there's bound to be some interested fans asking questions. We have some questions as well but obviously, we gotta wait along with everyone else.

LOS needed more polish, IMHO, but I really enjoyed it and liked it as a new direction for the series. I think a sequel is well-justified here.

I sure do hope we get some more 2D Castlevanias, though. Those DS/GBA games were suprisingly awesome, and I STILL, at least once a year, go back to Symphony of the Night.

I could not agree more. It is a beautiful looking game that featured some intense and diverse boss battles. You either master the combat system or you are going to repeating those battles over and over. Surpisingly, the combat system is very deep and satisfying,

I LOVE the ending as well. Just hang around after the end credits for an awesome moment in the game. SPOILERS. It takes the series and kind of flips it on its head. When and where that scene takes place is quite a surprise as well.

Mercury Steam did a great job. They pumped some much needed life back in to the series. Hideo Kojima was involved in the making of the first game as a consultant. I often wonder if it was his idea to have that kick a$$, and plot twisting second ending.

I liked Castlevania:LOS, so I'll more than likely get the sequel day one.

Liked it but didn't love it.

I would of have not cared for a sequel if it wasn't for the ending.

About time, I absolutely loved LOS. I thought the game was challenging and story draw me in deeply with the atmosphere. I loved the scenery's (especially the flying necropolis', oh god they were great). Music was epic. Boss fights were great. I've yet to buy the Reverie and Resurrection DLC.

I'll patiently wait for the official announcement of the sequel.

LOS was an excellent game. I also loved how it was different than earlier Castlevania games. It had it's own identity. The game just felt full. They didn't skimp on the production. They babied it with detail and tons of content. The boss battles were very magnificent. D1P goes without saying!
