Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Beta Dated
If you're not familiar, the Ghost Recon franchise is pretty darn successful. Critically acclaimed and quite popular, the expectations are high for the newest installment.
Ubisoft has revealed that the long-awaited beta test for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will begin on April 19 and run through May 2; it'll be available on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
If you purchased Splinter Cell Conviction for the 360 way back when, you've long since earned your spot in the beta (Ubisoft thanks you for waiting). If you didn't pick up that game, you can either pre-order the 360 version or be a PlayStation Plus subscriber. Yep, just another incentive to join Plus! The beta in question will boast two different maps and a couple different modes, and it'll support up to 12 players. You'll be able to sample each of the three character classes, too.
Furthermore, the publisher lifted the lid on the Ghost Recon Network, a new service for mobile devices and Web browsers that will let players fiddle around with the game's settings while on the go. So even if you're on the bus going to work, you can still customize your weapons, view heatmaps of levels, and track the performance of your buddies. Gotta always be connected, ya know. The "GRN" (we have to abbreviate it, right?) will support all future Ghost Recon titles as well.
