God Of War IV Revealed On April 19?
See now, there is a reason to visit Facebook.
Several readers have pointed us in the direction of the official PlayStation Facebook page, where a teaser image reads- "Will vengeance bring redemption?" The date listed is April 19, so we won't have long to wait for the unveiling.
Many are assuming this is an allusion to God of War IV, and they're probably right. After all, the full image URL features a directory of "GOWA_fb," we've been hearing numerous rumors that the new GoW entry would be revealed very soon, and several retailers have leaked information pertaining to a GoWIV release date. There has also been much talk concerning the possibility of multiplayer entering the franchise for the first time; it seems entirely unnecessary but even so, it could be awfully entertaining.
It seems a number of big games could be revealed this month. Crytek said they'd lift the lid on a "AAA title" this month and that game will very likely be Crysis 3. And now the new God of War...? Cool.

btw, GoW3's graphics are just incredible. Every time I play it feels like it's from the next-gen. Everything except for the occasional synthetic looking humanoid model or plastic molded hair looks unbelievable.

Multiplayer, especially co-op, could definitely work in GOW. SORT OF SPOILERS:
Kratos and his brother are dead. Who's to say they don't fight together as "ghosts" who've been dwelling in the land of the dead? SIGN ME UP if that's multiplayer.
As for combat/deathmatch/etc, that sounds lame, but I'll take a wait and see approach. God of War, as a series, hasn't let me down yet, so the developers have earned the benefit of the doubt.

I play these games moreso as skill motivated games, much like fighting games, where taking your finely tuned abilities online is another precipice of excellence to achieve. Because good against remotes is one thing, but good against the living is entirely different. (Thanks Han)
Otherwise for me these linear hack 'n slashers when played at simple difficulties, and in some cases default difficulties, present mild cognitive stimulation outside of watching the expensive fireworks, something feeling more like a rental for quick thrills rather than a long term proposition in lasting value when I approach them from a game play perspective.
Co-op is another feature I'd like to see become adopted as well.

I also wonder who took him away at the end of GoW3. Was it a titan, or something else that survived the chaos?
Maybe the world will form without the gods and a new hero will take over? Although I don't want that, Kratos is such a lovable guy :P
I'm quite excited.

Also I took the ending of 3 to mean he crawled off, not that he was dragged off. There's still plenty of Greek gods and titans to kill but some might be vague. As for co op, maybe it'll be a father/son adventure. After all Kratos did hoe-slay Aphrodite. In which case I see GoWIV being very much like Indiana Jones 4 and by that I mean sucky.

hope its a GOW game for the vita, it seriously needs some more games!
id love to see a GOW game that has cross platform support like what ruin does.
id be so cool if you could play it at home on your ps3, then switch to the vita and continue on the travel to work.
hey, ive seen women steering with their knees while they do their lipstick with one hand, and mascara with the other, so playing a game while driving cant be any worse!

The cover art of that had a VERY similar sepia tone. The font and colour of the words is very similar AND the tagline on the back of the case of HS is "Beyond revenge lies redemption".
That's my horse and I'm backing it most strongly.
