Sony, Microsoft E3 Press Conference Times Announced

Can you believe that it's almost time for E3 again?

And if you're planning on attending or watching from afar, you should have important times penciled in on your calendar. Two of the most important times involve two major competitors: Sony and Microsoft's press conferences.

According to, Sony's presentation will take place at 6 p.m. PST on Monday, June 4 at the Memorial Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California. Microsoft's conference will also be on June 4, but it's earlier in the day; it'll start at 10 a.m. PST. While you can expect some fireworks from both companies - as is typical of E3 stage presentations - you must remember that neither will be talking about their next-gen consoles. Well, so they say, at least.

We want to see more for The Last Of Us, certainly, as well as some cool upcoming software for the PlayStation Vita. Expect Sony's handheld to take up a lot of time for Sony.

If neither are talking about their next gen consoles, you can bet this year will be another win for Sony.

Nintendo may show some impressive things with the WiiU, however. But if MS isn't showing us a new system, you can bet they won't be showing us much...

Halo remakes? :p Maybe some Kinect tom-foolery?

Microsoft's E3 last year was pathetic. I fully expect more of the same this year (kinect garbage, XBL features that don't appeal to anyone, and possibly a spin off of Fable, Halo, or Gears of War- most likely with Kinect functionality).

I'm hoping Sony shows off some of their announced and unannounced exclusives - The Last of Us, The Last Guardian (I probalby shouldn't hope its there so i'm not disappointed again, though), GoW4, Syphon Filter 4....and hopefully something new from Guerlla Games/Sucker Punch

Agree with both of you. MS E3 was barely watchable last year. It was seriously the worst E3 presentation I've seen. They need to show a new console this year badly. Only thing that I can think of that I want to see is Halo 4...Sony on the other will likely show us a lot of exclusives and heavy Vita coverage is my guess.

HEAPS of things they could show!
a too human sequel, a ninja blade sequel, finally a new banko kazooie game, a new perfect dark game, a new shadow complex game, cryteks ryse, heaps of things they could show!
whether they will or not though, well thats a whole other kettle of fish..........

all of those could be good, especially banjo!
we use to have so many open world kid friendly platforming games.
spyro, crash, R&C, J&D, banjo kazooie, and they have all gone!

hehe. Me too!! Sony should have two press conference plans just in case MS does announce something. I really think Sony needs their next gen system out on the market at the same time as Microsoft, They need to perform better in the NA market as well. It is the biggest market by far. The 360 has been on top here for 15 straight months. What I find discouraging about the monthly hardware sales here in NA is the fact that the 360 is pulling away from the PS3. That's managed to happen even though Sony did cut the price of the PS3 pretty recently by $50. I thought that price cut would have lead to way more sales than it has. At the very least I thought the pricecut would help Sony close the gap with MS.

Oh well, it is what it. MS and Live are just way more popular these days than the PS3 is in NA. I maintain that the PS3 is GROTESQUELY underappreciated by a great many of gamers in NA.

Not that long ago it was Sony that was in the driver's seat taking the industry to unseen heights. NA Gamers and fans absolutely loved their PS1's, PS2's and to a smaller extent their PS3's.

Excelsior, I'm not really sure what is driving the NA 360 purchases either. It's not really Live, the subscriber numbers really don't support that. PS3 is actually the more connected console. The only thing I can imagine is that many previous Wii owners are trading up to Kinect because they are under the impression it all works the way it is in the commercials. The NA market in particular is very susceptible to shaping via marketing.

@Clam: Yup, I'll take pictures! As opposed to back when Highlander promised to dance in his kilt if he lost a bet (or what was it again? :D), I will indeed stand by my words:

No talk about new console == Beamy eating shorts w/picture proof.

Interesting. Sony has the later conference so they have a chance to respond if MS attempts to steal the limelight with a big announcement. I'd expect Sony to have an alternate presentation ready to go so that if MS drops a bomb about their next console, Sony can step right up and respond on the same news day.

I really don't believe that either will talk about their next console, although MS is in need of replacing the 360. I expect based on the games I am seeing advertized heavily that this will be another year of Emperor's New clothes at the Kinect revival rally.

I just don't get why there not having on different days like they used to. It seems a lot better that way so you can plan better when the competition announces something new like new consoles. Sony has been doing well for past three years now at e3. I just hope they announce some new ip that's not part of the uc,kz,gow, etc franchise that makes Sony. Also think Sony needs to announced Vita gets a price cut as well as the memory cards. doing that would help push Vita a lot better.

Ms weakness at past e3 is talking way to long and to much about Kinect. If Ms can do less that give their audience something they want like new ip's for a change that's isn't another spinoff or sequel to their three franchise halo, gears, and halo im sure the audience would be please. Also no dumb new features that do nothing really or people don't care for at all.

Oh man, it's E3 time huh? I love the speculation of it. MS has to go in the morning? 360 gamers won't even be out of bed.

Fun, fun times. And Lollipop Chainsaw debuts right around then so you can bet there will be a floor presence with some hot Juliets.

Agent! Or is Rockstar still too cool to show up? I don't even want to KNOW what might be unveiled concerning Final Fantasy.

I would like to see Last Guardian becaause Im concerned considering Ueda new status. Be nice to see new supreme quality jrpgs because Im still not completely satisfied with most jrpgs on ps3 and I would love to see awesome games on vita that is exclusive to system alone. I know its a long but I really would like to see what Kojima has been working on.

Aside from what we know Nintendo will show for the Wii U that supposidly won't just be tech demos, I'm not expecting much excitement from the conferences. It seems for the last few years I've walked away from the conference vids as feeling empty, like "that was it?"

Nintendo will talk and probably announce another mario game for the Wii U not that i don't think what they have is interesting but i have said to myself one console sick of seeing the white door stop sitting on the shelf.
M$ won't watch cause i will never own a M$ console, they'll probably show the new halo game and make it the best of the best blah blah
I'm excited for Sony's announcements would love to see more about the last of us and tomb raider for sure that looks good, would love to see more excitement for the Vita it needs to do well.

nintys by far the most important since their relaunching the wiiu with hopefully some confirmed specs and a release window.
wont expect a release date or pricing that will be saved for TGS.
i really want to see a new zelda, metroid and mario brothers.
rumours going around that super mario brothers 4 will be announced at E3.
all i can say is F*CK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we need another red steel game too, when i saw the tech demo of that kid flicking ninja stars off the wii u tablet into the bamboo, it instantly conjured up images of a awesome red steel game!
a new cursed mountain would be nice too.
that was such a disappointment, another game to put on the awesome concept poorly executed piles.

as for M$ i REALLY hope they bring some non kinect games to the table!
i really, really, REALLY want a new crackdown!
too human 2 would be another nice game to see a sequel to.
or maybe a ninja blade 2, i still really believe that franchise has allot of potential!
from software are such good developers they really did not try at all with the original!
id love to see a sequel to shadow complex too, but this time ditch crappy XBLA and bring it to retail!
the last one has MORE then enough fans to warrant a sequel and retail release!
as always id love to see rare back on banjo but sadly thats NEVER going to happen!

id love to see a new gears game too.
yea its a bit soon, but come on its gears!
really cant wait for halo 4 its looking f*cking amazing so far!!!!!!!!!
definitely shooter of the year!!!!!!!
i was REALLY worried seeing bungie leave halo, but its nice to see that was unfounded 343 is more then up to the job!

and last but not least we NEED, yes NEED a new alan wake game!
oh please M$ throw as much money at remedy as they want and leave them alone, let them make a massive open world alan wake narrative!
alan wake is one of the best new IPs this gen!
especially the story, its the ONLY game that feels like its story came out of a book!
a book so good stephen king himself could of wrote it!
thus the reason why we NEED a new alan wake game!!!!!!!!

as for what i would love to see from $ony is, well, a working home stream would be a good start!
i wish $ony would pay foxtell to broadcast the conference like M$ does!
one reason why M$ is kicking $onys butt!
simply because there not so f*cking tight a$$!
yeah its expensive, but its freaking foxtell! everyone watches it!!!!!!

the past few years they have streamed the conference both on home and on the blog and every year its been broken!
last year i sat in the home theater thinking oh it will start soon, it will start soon, it will start soon........ half an hour went past and there was still the sexy black screen so i said f*ck it and watched it elsewhere.
$ony really need to fix that up, i mean whats the point of going through all the trouble, expense, and effort to set up something that NEVER works!?

$ony really needs to announce some new games!
id love to see a new GOW, syphon filter, david cages new game, a new game from sucker punch be it a new IP or infamous 3, and of course the new IP GG have supposedly been working on since KZ2!
50 bucks however says the latter is for ps4 so we probably wont see that for a while.

id love to see a new medievil game for the move too!
sir daniel needs to return, i really miss the original i play it on my psp every day!
id be nice to have a new ape escape game for the move too.
but a proper ape escape game, not the mini game pile of sh*t they released last time!
i mean a proper ape escape game like the open world ones one ps1.
im really curious to see what the MGS team is working on now since MGS rising went to PD.
and what is this project ogre?

another thing i really, really, REALLY want to see, like NOTHING i want more then this!
is a zelda like game on the ps3.
after finishing skyward sword for the 15 trillionth time yesterday i really need to see something like this on the ps3!
move would be so much better for the controls, and the art beauty you could achieve with the extra juice.
i mean skyward sword was f*cking amazing, but imagine how much better it would of been with moves precision, and HD graphics!
i know i always say companies should differentiate themselves from the competition instead of releasing clones.
but this is ONE game $ony REALLY needs to "clone"!
either that or pay a kazillion bucks to myammotto to bring zelda to the ps3!
oh god what i would do for that day to come..........

one thing $ony REALLY needs to STOP doing is treating E3 like a stock meeting!
every single year they whip their d*ck out and say ooooooooo look at us were so good weve sold this many systems, have this many subscriptions, blah, blah, blah...........
well heres a shocker for ya $ony.
we watch E3 to see new games, and big announcements for already announced games!
not so we can sit here for 30 minutes listing to you talking about statistics!
$ony REALLY need to stop doing that!
both really need to stop wasting so much time on talking about useless online features!
one thing that really pisses me off lately is exactly that.
earth to M$ and $ony, NO ONE bought your consoles so they could use twitter!
or facebook!
every year the past few years has been 30% boring statistics, 40% useless features, and 30% what we want to see, the games!
we need to bring that down to 10% statistics, 10% useless features and 80% what people watch E3 for.
netflix support!
sorry no, thats not right, what is it?
oh thats right, THE GAMES!!!!!!!!

Um... you do realize that last year at E3 Sony showed far more games than MS? And MS talked about their numbers more or less as much as Sony talked about their own.

BTW, is it possible for you to use paragraphs, punctuation and cease the filter evasion and just use regular wards instead of faux-swearing?
