New Silent Hill Movie Will Freak You Out This Halloween

Well, there's no better time to release a Silent Hill movie.

According to ComingSoon.net, Open Road Films has confirmed that Silent Hill: Revelations 3D will hit theaters on October 26.

Featuring Adelaide Clemens ("X-Men Origins: Wolverine") and Sean Bean ("The Lord of the Rings," "Game of Thrones"), the film boasts a father and daughter team who are on the run for "mysterious reasons." Dubbed psychological horror (no big surprise there), the girl's father disappears and she learns she's not who she thinks she is...don't you hate it when that happens? Other members of the cast include Malcolm McDowell ("A Clockwork Orange," "Wing Commander"), Kit Harrington ("Game of Thrones"), and Carrie-Anne Moss ("The Matrix").

The last movie based on Konami's survival/horror series arrived in 2006, which also featured Bean. It didn't too badly in terms of ticket sales and some of the critics liked it; maybe Revelations 3D will be well worth seeing. Now we figure it's about time for the unveiling of a new Resident Evil movie, don't you think? And where's Bioshock? ...just don't ruin it, please.

I loved the first one, to this day it is one of the only games made into a movie that I have really liked. I can't wait to see this one, though I could do without the 3D part. Me and a few friends have wondered if there was gonna be another one, and I can't wait to tell them.

I enjoyed the 1st one aswell, and agree that it's 1 of the very few game to movies that actually worked! Want a bad one?! go watch alone in the dark, you'll want to stab a q-tip into ur ear a few times until you forget about it.

Ontop of that we get sean bean returning, and we also get Malcom McDowell in the mix, sweet.

Looking forward to this, but I could care less about the 3D. I really wish this 3D fad would just die off already, so sick of it.

You know I have heard a lot about that movie, nothing good mind you. I think it might be time to go and see it. Tara Reid is in it right? If thats the one then I can only imagine how bad it is :)

Same here ( mostly because most of the time they are badly implemented ) but if done well it could make it so much more scary .

Im god awful sick of 3D already. Im pumped a bit fot this new silent hill. I absolutely loved the 1st one but I dont want to be forced to fork out another 5 bucks on top of the original ticket price to watch it in 3D.

Watching movies in 3D is not impressive and i dont know why every movies out now tacked on 3D. This has been turning me off on going to the movies lately. Last movie i wanted to see was Underworld awakening. The thearter in my neighborhood only had 3D showings $15 a ticket. I refused and am still currently waiting for netflix release in bluray. I can buy a psn game for that money. Still if a non 3D of silent hill revelations hits theaters i see it.

This is what the Resident Evil movies should have been. Excellent video game adaptation. My only complaint was the barbed wire through the V at the end. Completely unnecessary.

I have such high hopes for this! Silent Hill is the only video game adaptation to film I class as excellent. It caught the atmosphere spot on. Some fans were nit picking over the story but it was still enjoyable and when you compare it over the other adaptations it's the Citizen Kane of the lot.

I see it is taking the direction of SH3, I don't mind this, but I did think they would take Shaun Bean's character and link him into being James from SH2. Think about it ;) But I really cannot wait for this!

scary movies have gone the way of scary games, ie non existent!
50 bucks says this turns into resident evil retribution.

Um, they have been filming a new Resident Evil movie. I forget what it's called. Retribution? Ada Wong will be in it. Jill Valentine is back. She appeared in the end credits of Afterlife by the way. She had one those crab looking devices on her chest and was working for Umbrella. Uh oh. That pull back at the end of Afterlife was pretty cool...we saw all the Umbrella forces descending upon our heros on the ship. I guess we will se an epic battle at start of the new movie. RE Afterlife grossed over 250 million dollars by the way. Each RE movie has made more money than the previos movie as well.

I liked the Silent Hill movie. I thought it was a well shot movie that had a great look to it and it did a great job of honoring the source material. I still remember that awesome SH theme at the start of the movie. You can buy the movie for $5 on PSN by the way.

The way it ended was depressing. We saw the mom and little girl get back to Sean Bean in the house but he could not see them. I guess thhey were still stuck in the SH universe. Obviously they need to go back to SH and fix this. :)

Um, hello!!! They announced a new Resident Evil movie a long time ago. It has already been filming and will be called Retribution. Michelle Rodriguez is in it again, plus Jill Valentine will return. Jill was in the end credits of Afterlife. She had one of those crab looking devices on her chest and was working for Umbrella. It will also have Ada Wong in it. Ironically, I remember reading an article about the new RE movie here but maybe Mr. Shepard is unaware of this and Ben posted it. Resident Evil Afterlife grossed over 250 million dollars by the way and was filmed in 3D using the cameras from Avatar. Great looking film that had some slick production values. Each RE movie has made more money than the previous film. I'm sure Sony which is the parent company of Constantine films and Capcom are very pleased about that.

Okay, back to Silent Hill. I thought it was great looking film that also featured some great production values. It did a great job of honoring the source material as well. I loved the SH theme that kicked in at the very start of the movie. We saw the mom and little girl make it back to their home but Sean Bean could not see them. Uh oh, I guess they are still stuck in the Sh universre and will need to return to address this. :)

Sounds like a pretty good cast, I hope this one is as good as the last. If they focus on the 3D though we are in trouble.

Why did they skip over SH2 and go to SH3 story wise?

I really liked the first one even with the Hollywood changes they did. Sean Bean should have been Harry Mason! I mean... why change there names if the core story is still the same.

I understand Hollywood always makes females the lead in horror movies but still.

I've been tracking this one for some time! I cannot wait to see it. I hope it keeps the atmosphere well like the previous one did. As for the 3D, I'm so very sick of it. I just really hope they don't have certain scenes in there to emphasize the 3D effect, or rather abusing it. I really hate it when movies do that - have something go extremely close to the camera just because they know it will be in 3D.
