Atlus To Distribute Dragon's Crown In US, Coming To PS3, Vita
Update: UTV Ignition Entertainment, the former publisher for Dragon's Crown, has sent over an official statement from senior vice president Lokesh Dhar:
"While we are saddened to no longer be associated with the Dragon’s Crown project, we are very confident that the title is in excellent hands with Atlus. Since the initial announcement, information on timing and features in the game have changed and other details regarding design and functionality are yet to be determined. We are confident that Atlus and Vanillaware will deliver the finest game possible."
Original Story:
How come when we search for images for this game, we get a lot of really questionable pics of a half-naked Amazon?
...maybe it isn't important. At any rate, Atlus (part of Index Digital Media, Inc.) has just announced that it has acquired the rights to distribute Vanillaware's Dragon's Crown in North America. It was initially going to be published by UTV Ignition Entertainment but the responsibilities have now fallen to Atlus, who will deliver the co-op action/RPG to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita platforms.
Said Index Digital Media, Inc. President and CEO, Shinichi Suzuki:
"We are exceedingly proud to become a part of producing and publishing Dragon's Crown. Vanillaware is a developer beloved for their tremendous visual talent and extraordinary attention to detail. Our previous collaboration with them, Odin Sphere™, went on to sell over 350,000 units worldwide, entering the prestigious PlayStation® Greatest Hits library. While much work remains, we believe this collaboration will be well worth the wait."
Dragon's Crown will arrive some time next year. It looks like a colorful and entertaining game, one that you'll definitely want to sit down and play with a willing friend. But seriously, what's the deal with the Amazon? Her hips could crush my head. It's freaking me out.
