PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Could Be Announced Soon

The rumors began earlier this year; they involved a game similar to Super Smash Bros. only with PlayStation characters. It's a darn good idea and now it seems Sony isn't far from announcing it.
According to PlayStation LifeStyle, Sony has registered the web address "http://playstationallstarsbattleroyale.com/" and furthermore, PSLS spotted a shorter url- "http://playstationallstars.com/." Therefore, it appears quite likely that a title called PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale - or something along those lines - might be revealed very soon. And don't forget that Sony has teased the unveiling of a "huge new PS3 exclusive." God of War: Ascension has already been announced, so...
It's not a stretch to think we might be pitting Drake against Kratos towards the end of this year, or maybe it could be a truly bizarre confrontation between Ratchet and Solid Snake. Oh, the possibilities...

not a syphon filter remake.
not a new MGS game.

Another thing that gets me, is who does sony really have to fill the roster with? are they just going to use characters that sony doesnt own? like from the FF series? .... I dunno, this game isnt even annouced, and to me it smells of death already. If you want a SSB game, go buy SSB, it really doesnt get better then that.

This allstars game could be good, give it a chance, It's been a pretty fair amount of people that's been wanting a sony version of smash bros./ powerstone for awhile now including me.
But yea I definitely would like to see 8 days make a comeback. Need more New IP's. tired of this gen's embrace of mutliple sequels.

the games been done for ages, they just need to find the funds to publish it.
as phoenix said if you want a SSMB game go buy SSMB!
people buy a playstation for core games, not for crappy kids games!
this is exactly why nothing can be popular these days!
as soon as it becomes popular the industry clones it with every single game released, and then instead of it being popular and beloved it turns into COD!
its funny today a leaked animation wheel of one of the animators who worked at a $ony studio leaked today.
contained footage of the canned heavenly sword 2, 8 days, the getaway 3, and other footage of unannounced but canned games.
its so sad man looking at 8 days it looks like uncharted 2!
but remember that game was suppose to release in 08.
uncharted 2 blew everyone away releasing in 10, imagine the impact 8 days would of had if it released 2 years earlier!
i really wish $ony would go back to it, be it i dont care what a phone game, a vita game, or a ps4 game.
they NEED to go back to 8 days!
the getaway 3 looked pretty good too.
$ony needs to stop looking at the market and trying to copy everyone, and do what they WERE good at!
being ORIGINAL!
the ps3 is not famous for COD wannabes, its famous for its ambitious and unique games like LA Noire and heavy rain!
a SSMB game will be met with as much anticipation and success as rouge warrior did!

-3D space
-Environments that scales multiple parts of levels.
-4 guys on screen at once(6 at once would be cool just to be different)
Okay with the exception of 3d plane I know ssb's has those other features but i'm sure something like this with ps3's power will be cool.
And hopefully it's not catered to childish audience, even though I don't think it really can be with Kratos, Sweet Tooth and Snake involved.

There's so many others, but Im sure sony will pick some good ones and no doubt have DLC later based on feedback.
I hope its more or less exactly like smashbros just because its such a fun platform vs a normal fighter like tekken or SF. I just hope they dont change the look of characters to a kid/ chibi style like SF pocket fighters or something like that marvel super hero squad. But even if they did it wouldnt be a huge deal

Any way, a minor worry. I hope this works out well for Sony, and if pulled off right would be cool. Hopefully they can successfully iterate on the great Smash Bros. formula.
