DICE, EA Still Want To Make A Sequel To Mirror's Edge

Whenever it comes to possible translation issues, we're always hesitant to make a report.

But we want a Mirror's Edge sequel so badly that we're more than prepared to cling to whatever slight rumor that may exist. Forgive us.

According to European source Play Front, it seems possible that we'll hear something about a Mirror's Edge 2 at some point in the "near future." It appears that both EA and DICE still have a vested interest in the project and they will make "great efforts" to bring back the franchise. ...well, I mean, revisit the new IP and turn it into a franchise by making another game. Basically, they want us to be able to talk about the sequel some time soon, and I'm good with that.

The original title sold around a million copies but evidently, that wasn't good enough to prompt immediate work on a sequel. Hopefully, though, things are changing in the EA/DICE landscape...

A Mirrors Edge sequel is the number 1 game I want to see before this generation is out. Even just seeing headlines mentioning the possibility get me all giddy with excitement.

Excellent! Definately enjoyed this one when it came out, one of my first few PS3 games. I really liked the concept.

Made myself play through the entire thing without shooting a gun just to get the trophy, but ended up thinking it's the best way to play the game, completely changes the experience.

Maaan I'm pining way more for a Heavenly Sword sequel.
That franchise has the potential to be something special.

Plus it stars Anna Torv as Nariko! <3

The first one definitely had promise, I'd be down for another attempt as long as they make the gameplay more fluid. When things didn't go off without a hitch in that game they got really ugly really fast.

To say there were complaints about this game when it came out about bland colours, short story and a non-open world, this game brought a new dynamic to gameplay. A game about running, climbing and jumping and at time all three to perform so cool stunts. A game where you can play through it without ever using a gun... which I did for the challenge and a trophy.

The music was atmospheric, the world vision from the characters perspective different and beautiful. This has to be on those games that should be remembered for this current generation.

Yep, a Heavenly Sword 2 would be nice to hear about, BUT hearing there are still plans for Mirrors Edge 2... outstanding.

My only hope is they retain some of the gameplay if not all and just add to something that was definitely an experience.Heres hopinh.

Keep Playing!

I really, really loved this game. There wasn't a whole lot of depth involved, but it really seemed like a breath of fresh air at the time. It was just so different from anything I had ever played, and stringing together the parkour moves turned out to be very fluid once you got the hang of it. If they make a sequel with similar mechanics, a bit more graphical polish (granted this released in '09) and a well-developed storyline, I'll be first in line to purchase. So.... please do this EA/DICE!
Also, perhaps some of you need to take some dramamine before playing to avoid barfing :)

This game really deserves a sequal. I never platinumed the first one, but I did beat it and got most of the trophies other then the speed run ones, I did not like those. This was one of those games that showed guns are not the selling point people make them out to be. I mean come on a million copies is not bad for a new IP.

I still think it had one of the best intro songs to a game, I downloaded it from the store and still have it on my HDD, I even play the drums to it from time to time, great song.

Mirror's Edge and Heavenly Sword both desperately need sequels. I can, and do, still happily play them both to this day. Absolutely visionary games. I'm so glad that DICE is on board with this. Now, if only Ninja Theory would quit languishing in mediocrity with their misguided multi-platform strategy. They could have been a shining gem in the Sony library, if they had only stuck around for one more game to reap the rewards of their effort, like Naughty Dog did.

question is not if, but when this will be released!
in fact Lars was interviewed on it today and said there hoping to speak about it "soon".
so its confirmed, ME2 to see a debut at EAs press conference at E3 this year!
all ill say is they better not try to change it!
every time you hear DICE talk about the game they say there trying to change it to bring it to a larger audience.
all ill say is god help them if they change it, there going to have a hell of allot of flaming torches and pitchforks to deal with!
sigh, can we have ONE, just ONE franchise this generation that does not get turned on its head?
just one!?

I sincerely hope they do a sequel. The first one was sooo awesome and refreshing, it helps that I love parkour but it still was very fun and pulling off some cool moves was rewarding. It had quite a good story as well and now I can imagine it with Frostbite 2.0 and better story and more fluidity... the possibilities are endless.

Please DICE/EA do this.
