Bethesda: Skyrim DLC Info Might Finally Arrive "Next Week"
Well, "a little more info" is better than nothing. And it's soon, too, so that should appease the fans.
Ever since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launched to widespread critical acclaim last November, Bethesda hasn't been forthcoming about any add-on content. Of course, the game is so freakin' massive, I'm not sure it even needs more content. But it's a new generation, I guess.
Anyway, Bethesda vice president of PR and marketing Pete Hines updated his Twitter page with the following:
"I am working on getting a little more info out on Skyrim/DLC. Maybe next week? We'll see. Also trying to confirm Kinect release date."
Before the title hit store shelves, the publisher was clear about one thing: It would have fewer but meatier expansion packs. Therefore, whatever it is they plan to announce, expect a substantial and worthwhile piece of DLC. But PlayStation 3 owners have to remember that Microsoft has the Skyrim DLC exclusive for one month; it's not exactly shocking but it can be annoying for owners of Sony's machine.
So hopefully, Bethesda will announce the long-awaited DLC next week and everyone can just keep playing one of the biggest games in existence.

I think the timed exclusivity is as close to any kind of advantage MS could get on the TES series.
The money Bethesda makes from the PS3 versions is definitely much more than M$ could pay them to make it Xbox exclusive.

Lets you use dragon shouts, open menus and the map, issue orders to followers, and some other things using the voice controls of the kinect.
Beth have said that the motion controls of the kinect would not work well with a game like Skyrim.

But still, it deserves a look :)
They are taking a different approach to DLC for Skyrim, which means we might not see a GOTY edition till next year.

When it comes to TES Skyrim, I went from a total sceptic to an absolute believer.

developers whine till their faces are blue that people trade in their games, then support them like this!
oh the irony is killing me!
one day developers will understand 6 months after release is FAR too late to release the first pack of DLC!
ok its a big pack and takes allot of time to finish but come on!
most people waiting on this would of got bored and traded it by now!
not to mention everyone thinking of trading it in would of done so by now, especially since EB had a special deal on if you traded skyrim in within 3 months of release you got 80 bucks for it.
most games once you purchase it no matter how soon you trade it your lucky to get half that!
i remember trading in forza 4 2 weeks after release and only got 38 bucks for it!

I really don't like this timed exclusive stuff. I know MS has gotten close to a few developers this generation, but it's extremely annoying. I paid money for the game too, ya know!? I also noticed there was a mention of "kinect" in the twitter quote. That's just ridiculous. I feel comfortable betting MS forced that issue. I see no point in any developer going out of their way to incorporate a gimmick, especially this long after release.
