Amazon Offers A Few Fresh Details For PlayStation All-Stars

There has been much discussion concerning Sony's new PS3 exclusive, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

And at this point, the more information we have, the better. We don't have a complete fighter roster or a concrete launch date, but the new Amazon listing does offer some fresh insights.

After explaining that you can "play as your favorite PlayStation characters with all their signature movies," we catch a glimpse of some of those characters - all of which were already announced - and a few of the available environments, including Dreamscape (LittleBigPlanet), Sandover (Jak & Daxter), and Metropolis (Ratchet & Clank). Last but certainly not least, the game is listed with a placeholder ship date of December 31, 2012, which likely means the title won't be available until next year.

Another huge PS3 exclusive that has the same placeholder date is The Last Of Us...however, of course it's incredibly unlikely that these two games will launch on the same day, and even less likely that even one of them will hit store shelves on the last day of the year. Still, this little extra bit of info helps. What other environments would you like to see?

No idea really about the arenas I would like to see, but I really want to see Nariko on this game. She just has to be on it! And please have Anna Torv do the voice acting like she did for Heavenly Sword.

Aside from that, I hope that there will be some sort of "support characters" in the game. Imagine summoning a bunch of Patapons to perform an assist while you try to defend or something. Cute as hell! LOL

Last off, it's good that third-party characters would find their way into the game. I would like to see those characters that are strongly associated to the PlayStation name, just because their game launched on it. At the top of my head are Dante (Devil May Cry), Kazuma Kiryu (Yakuza), Lenneth (Valkyrie Profile), and Snake. I know he's on Nintendo's own Smash Bros. game but one can't deny that Snake has a very strong following among the PlayStation gamers. Anyway, that list could get really long, as we all know. LOL

I fear a Nariko appearance would only get my hopes up for a game that's never coming.

Sega brought Ryo as a playable character in Sega AllStars Racing. Is Shenmue 3 coming? No. :(

Nariko in this, would most likely happen.

It's basically a brawler, imagine your average fighting game like Tekken/Soul Calibur only with more than 2 players on the screen fighting each other.. and the characters featured are iconic ones with their signature fighting styles.

That's not quite right, they aren't the same kind of fighter as your Caliburs and Tekkens. Find some youtube vids of Powerstone and you'll get the idea.

actually thought of this today kinda. it's ok to have some playstation game's level...like you've mentioned from lbp etc etc... My thinking was though...to be a little different..it'd be cool to have a level based on a ps move game...specifically everybody dance... There could be like an abstract dance in the background and the sparkles you see on a move controller in everybody dance when you're doing good. Instead of the sparkles I guess you can do disco lights or have the background change colors. this stage of course would have to play tracks from the game

they NEED a level set on the final level of heavenly sword.
still the best level put into a game this gen!
speaking of the last of us its apparently releasing september.
i seriously doubt it because 1 ND normally releases their games in november, but then maybe $ony has finally learned its not a great idea going up against AC and COD.
not to mention its a new IP in a niche genre so releasing in a quieter month would be common sense.
i hope it does release then, if theres one game im really excited for its that!
just the whole concept and idea of the game really has me excited, been wanting a i am legend game for a LONG time now, we finally may have it!

i hear the levels especially the LBP one will be changing the whole time you're fighting like the little pop up bubble in LBP will pop up in the middle of a match and it'll start changing like someone is building a level while you're fighting. Sounds pretty cool to me.

Its easy to check if amazon has a real release date or a pre order,

try to pre order it and see if you can get release day shipping, if not then its just a place date and if history has anything to tell us, then a list date of december 31 means they aren't expecting it till next year.
