Black Ops II: Launch Date, 21st Century "Cold War" Setting

The official world reveal will happen later tonight during the NBA playoffs on TNT, but we've already got the title and date.

Obviously, Activision couldn't wait to put Call of Duty: Black Ops II before the eyes of the gaming public, as they've posted the title, date, and a few baseline details at the game's official UK site. Then again, maybe it shouldn't have gone up this early...oops.

You can try viewing the premiere video but it probably won't work; you may have to wait until tonight for that. Anyway, as previously rumored, Black Ops II will in fact launch on November 13 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, and the setting will be the 21st Century Cold War, "where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare." Leaked environments over the past weeks have included Japan, China and Afghanistan, which may be accurate, as the futuristic setting appears to encompass the globe.

Now that we have the release date, you can probably pre-order the game as of tomorrow - or maybe even today - so if you're a fan, go for it.

meh... BlOps was probably the most fun i've had on a COD game but i'm expecting this to be just like any other COD. Just new maps and new weapons. It's just the same ol tired formula. I'll probably be playing BF3 still so i have no interest in this. COD is fun but it's just getting old. What i want to know is when will Dishonored release or Bioshock Infinite for that matter.

I wish treyarch would release zombies as a download only thing for people who don't want the next call of duty. However that is honestly the only reason some people buy it, so its not likely they would do this.

I would love to be able to spend like 20 bucks and get just zombies, as I really think treyarch did a good job on that mode.

Cool, I will be there on 11/13/12. I am expecting Treyarch to pull out all the stops with Zombies! It's going to be great to see what new ideas they have in store. Looking forward to it.

Maybe this black ops can restore call of duty to what it was when call of duty 4 modern warfare was in the early days :p

I have to give Blops II props, it is always wise to use a roman numeral in your sequel name because eventually "Call of Duty: Black Ops 35" will look stupid.

@alejandro... Isn't that what every call of duty does anyway? Restore it to what the original MW was in the early days? It's literally the same game every year for the most part

I'd have to say Black Ops was by far my favorite Call of Duty, hopefully Black Ops 2 can top that.

Yup. I SO did not want to want the next BO, but damn! That video piqued my interest and I was NOT expecting that. Very cool. I want to see more though. Hmmmmmmm...........

For a new concept you'd think they would strive for something that doesnt look like a 2008 game,sadly it'll still sell millions. Makes you wonder what those 300+ guys working on it are really doing
