Black Ops II Pre-Orders Already Lighting Up Amazon UK

Well, that didn't take long.

Every new Call of Duty for four years running has broken some sales record or another, and the latest installment is already making its mark.

Only 24 hours after Call of Duty: Black Ops II became official, Amazon UK reports that day-one pre-order numbers are three times higher than that of the game's predecessor, which released in 2010. We don't have exact figures but based on this response across the pond, we have to assume the North American Amazon branch will report something similar soon. The question now is will Black Ops II break the overall pre-order records set by Modern Warfare 3?

Given the hype, maybe it will. If you've been living under a rock on Neptune, the new CoD is set in 2025, zombies will be featured, and there's a massive staff of 300 cranking on this bad boy. Call of Duty: Black Ops II is slated to launch on November 13.

I found Black Ops to be better than both the more recent modern warfares, but it was the multiplayer zombie levels that I liked.

Either way, I haven't found anything about the last few CoD's particularly revolutionary, but I would almost consider a purchase just for the zombies. That could be a game for me all on it's own.

The rest, I'm a little more indifferent towards.

I agree. I actually liked Black ops, however I hadn't purchsed a CoD game since MW1 so it was a little more fresh for me. I played MW2 at my friends and hated it.

I reeeeaaally wish they would just sell zombies as a stand alone. I know they wont as a lot of people will pay 60 bucks just for that mode but man, I would easilly pay 30 bucks for just zombies lol.

I think I like the campaigns in Treyarchs games better. The stories anyways, they are more fluid. But both supply great over the top action sequences that are fun to play out. Most the stuff you play out in CoD games would be cut scenes in others.

But I don't like the way Treyarch handles the mp. W@W was ok, but Black ops was a mess. But zombies is always a good time. It's hard for me to say no to a session of zombies.

Black Ops multiplayer seemed a little better to me. Early on it had hit detection issues, but it seemed to be fixed after the first patch or two.

I just thought they tried implementing too much, and it made it a cluster, you know. It also felt very clunky compared to the MW games. That's just me though. Black Ops maybe got 10 hours outta me. While all the others got a couple days at least. Just didn't like it too much.

The campaign and zombies on the other hand I thoroughy enjoyed. I didn't care for MW3's campaign too much. The stories are never the reason I play them, it's the over the top action and although MW3 had that compared to Black Ops and MW2 it just wasn't as grand.

So many people pre-order COD that if an game managed to sell more copies than the amount of copies of COD that was pre-ordered, the dev and pub should throw an huge ass party!

Meh, there's really no purpose for pre-ordering it. It'll be in stores in massive amounts. Unless you get some form of incentive I'd pass on a pre-order...

That's not true. It is true they will have mass amounts, but I'll raise my hand n say I missed out on CoD before because I didn't pre-order. Went to Gamestop and best buy and neither had it. Called wal-mart and target and no luck there either. It's worth pre-ordering any game for that reason alone if you want it day 1. But you can walk into Gamestop and pre-order up til the midnight before release of any game so pre-ordering 7 months in advance is odd to me.

The good thing about pre-ordering early, through Amazon at least, is that if the price drops at any point before launch, your order will be for the lowest price that it dropped to even if it went back up. Assuming you pre-ordered before the price drop.
