Amazon: Black Ops II Pre-Orders Top Predecessor, MW3
Yesterday, we learned that Call of Duty: Black Ops II had already topped the day-one pre-order tally for its predecessor at Amazon UK.
Now, Amazon has sent over further evidence of the impending blockbuster's early success; this information evidently encompasses all of Amazon: first-day pre-order numbers were ten times the number of the first Black Ops.
In addition, the hotly anticipated sequel even topped Amazon's record pre-order total from last year's Modern Warfare 3 by a significant 30%. Right now, MW3 still holds the overall record for the most pre-ordered video game of all time at Amazon.com (and in the top 20 overall), but at this rate, Black Ops II might take over the crown. Given the marketing blitz one can expect from Activision and the massive popularity of the franchise in question, it seems the new CoD is destined for more sales charts glory.
We can't wait to see what happens when Grand Theft Auto V gets an official release date. Think it has any shot of topping the CoD pre-order stats...?

It happens when each COD is announced. Everyone says the sales are not going to beat the previous COD and everyone is talking about how they think the COD faithful are tired of the games. I guess instead of saying 'predict', I should have said 'hope'.
Either way, all the haters want the game to fail and end up falling all over themselves with utter shock when the sales records are broken. I don't understand the disdain. I personally love the COD SP campaigns, especially Treyarch's storylines. I don't play the MP at all so can't say much about that part of the game.

Another part of me wonders if they are lying about the massive pre-orders in order to get more people to pre-order :P I'm just so baffled that it breaks previous sales every year. Especially with all the haters, and the people who vow they aren't buying it again. Then again I shouldn't be talking, Treyarch has hooked me on Zombies and I will probably be part of these sales numbers this year *sigh*
