My favorite games of the generation are Infamous and Infamous 2... So when I played the first Prototype, I didn't enjoy it. I think Infamous had a lot to do with it. I think I was comparing them too much, and I wasn't able to focus on the strong points of Prototype. Plus it was hard from going out of my way to be good in Infamous, to being a scumbag in Prototype, and following the story after murdering 1000's of people. It just didn't make sense.
And while that hasn't changed in Prototype 2 (it still hard to get on Heller's side when I'm murdering so many people in horrible, horrible ways) I realized that I had to just focus on creating destruction, and having fun with it. I was ready to give it up after the first couple hours, until I started powering up and actually feeling the power.
Towards the end of the game I was just in love with the gameplay. I don't think I have ever felt more in control and powerful in a game... not even in Infamous.
Infamous is still the better game to me, but Prototype possibly beats Infamous when it comes to just creating destruction and feeling powerful.

i took prototype 2 back the day i finished it, which was the day after i bought it!
if there is one game out there that defines the more DLC pack than sequel term its this!
animations, enemies, levels, almost everything is recycled from the original!
so disappointed because the franchise has so much potential!
i wish antivision would sell off the IP, $ony buys it and puts santa monica on it!
oh god imagine the brutality and extreme violence and scale of GOW in a game like prototype!
