Lord Of The Rings Likely Going LEGO

Well, it was bound to happen.

After producing LEGO-fied video games for everything from Batman to Star Wars to Indiana Jones, one had to assume developer Traveller's Tales and publisher Warner Bros. had one more uber-major film franchise left to pursue...

It's "The Lord of the Rings," and as reported by MCV, a new line of toys have apparently confirmed the upcoming existence of a LEGO game based on Peter Jackson's epic theatrical adventures. It's expected that Warner will officially announce the new game before or at E3. For the most part, we expect nothing less than another solid, entertaining, lengthy family-friendly experience that Traveller's does so well. And given Tolkien's massive universe, the possibilities are almost limitless.

We've liked most all of the LEGO games. There's not much not to like.

If you're feeling cheap you can always just play a PS1 classic on an HD screen w/o the smoothing on. That's pretty much LEGO-fied

I just started downloading my digital copy of the LotR. I hope it's in HD b/c films like this one really shine at 1080.

I have the adventures in Video Games that I used to have in my mind with Legos. No need for me to bring the two together.

I've been tempted by a few, but have never tried a Lego game.

This will probably push me over the edge...

Very good news indeed. These games are what got my girlfriend even playing games. Have Lego Batman preordered and psyched for that and now another probable high quality Lego game to look forward too. Only one I didn't like was the clone wars. Too much going on in that one but everything else was solid.

I wish they did game franchises too. Lego Silent Hill would be awesome. Lego people ripped apart and displayed on walls.

oh god no!
i wish they would do a remake of the original harry pothead games in lego.
i really enjoyed the going to classes of the original 2.
id be cool to have them redone so you have the classic fun gameplay of the original 2, but the cheesy humour and brilliant co-op system leggo series is known for!
harry pot head 1,2 + lego = match made in heaven!
