Tell Us Why You Hate Call Of Duty, And We'll Publish It
It's time to give the haters a platform for a day.
There are millions of Call of Duty fans but at times, it seems there are more haters than lovers. Now, most vent their hatred and hostility in boards and forums across the Internet and for the most part, very little of it is publishable.
But after hearing it all for years, we thought it'd be fun to give one of you anti-CoD peeps a chance to publish a piece with PSX Extreme. It'll be a guest editorial and you can tackle your dislike of Activision's blockbuster any way you see fit. However, as we are a legitimate source and aren't in the business of posting venom-filled rants, there are a few rules:
1. Please make it an appropriate length. If you're not sure, check our articles; here's an example.
2. No swearing and no "e-speak." Some halfway decent writing skills will be required.
3. Leave PSXE out of it. We've never taken a strong stance one way or the other on this franchise.
When you're done penning your painfully masterful piece of negativity, send it to me (no attachments) at-
bdutka[at]psxextreme.com
I will select the winner on Monday, so you've got the weekend to come up with something that's both informative and passionate (an article can be passionate without being ugly, you know). It's an important topic, so we figure gamers deserve a chance to call out from a beyond the forums. Oh, and don't freak out CoD fans...we'll give you your shot when this is over. ;)
Lastly, there are no prizes for this beyond publication. If you're looking for that kind of thing, feel free to participate in our So You Think You Can Review Video Games contest.

Then again, when I'm shopping for a game,FPS games are usually the last genre I look for, so by the time I get to them, I've probably already spent my money on something else.

How dare Activision make a product people love and want when i dont like it - how dare they. what makes it even more infuriating is the fact its the same game they release every year yet lessor minds cannot see this and still get enjoyment playing it - oh the simpletons.
It seems to be either kids or seniors as well as people of low intelligence that buy this addictive garbage year in year out while people of superior intellect and taste like myself are held back and have our gaming needs stifled by the lack of innovation perpetuated by activision (damn them)
luckily we have forums to berate these cromagnon Cod sheep/mindless fools and enjoy the opportunity to offer our obviously enlightened commentry on every cod article - so join me in a superior sneer at these cod imbeciles

my feeling on the game is insignificant, i will only say that i am lonely cuse my good friend who for years i could depend on as my only racing game companion now plays nothing but COD.
i do not have the skills to write a whole article but here are a few points
if you are not fan of something but are constantly being berated by fans of said product or by continuos adds (music, movies, games, whatever) after a while you start to hate it more every time it is brought up.
when a game is rated M and 75% (from what i have ever seen) of the players online are 12 year olds spewing things from their mouths that a veteran sailor wouldn't even think of, and the older players who are there seem to encourage this type of behaviour and, well, thats not cool
the only other point i will is that activision can do whatever they want the market will dictate if its viable or not, but i personally would rather have an enjoyable instalment to my favourite franchise thats fun to (re)play for two years or so then a true next step in the series with actual upgrades to the graphics and gameplay then a "new" version of the same game every year.
i dont play FPS games much, but this series suffers from the same things EA has done with the NFS series which i used to love but cant remember now when i last tried a "new" release and thought to myself...self, you need to buy this.
for those who hate it so much ... relax it will go away sooner or later, remember tony hawks pro skater... and guitar hero.

they recycle the same crap year in year out, they refuse to upgrade the game to HD.
yes a multi billion dollar game is STILL running in sub HD!
whats most frustrating about it though is the fact that antivision are satisfied with copying and pasting each years iteration when the series is so popular.
its definitely the leader in the industry, so you would like to think the company who makes the most money would be the one who is putting the most into games to push the industry forward.
but there not, if anything there doing that by far the least!
there swimming in cash but there games are by far the least innovative and "next gen".
thats my biggest gripe with not just COD but antivision too.
not that they CTRL + A, CTRL + C, CTRL + V every game, but there happy in doing that and still fight tooth and nail saying there the ones pushing the industry forward the most.
while watching south park the other day, that episode where john edwards comes to south park and is tricking people.
got to the part where stan says to him your not giving people false hope, your holding back the evolution of the human race you douche!
then it clicked, thats antivision.
not only are they holding back the genre but there holding back the entire industry by releasing the same stuff year in year out.
leaders should be leading, not holding the pack back!
