Would You Pay $1,300 For The Resident Evil 6 Premium Edition?
That's what Capcom wants to know, so they're asking.
The publisher will release a ridiculously pricey special edition of Resident Evil 6 in Japan this fall: It comes with "a faithful replica of Leon's leather jacket" along with four tablet covers, and it'll retail for 105,000 yen, or nearly $1,300.
...that's a lot of money, even for the hardcore franchise followers. It definitely seems like something that would probably remain in Japan, but Capcom is asking North American gamers if it's something they'd possibly purchase. The poll is up over at the Capcom-Unity website and as of right now, the split is 75/25 in favor of "No way. Not interested." That's hardly surprising, but perhaps it's mildly interesting to note that 1/4 of voters really would pay that much money for this collector's edition. That jacket must be pretty high quality, wouldn't you say?
Anyway, feel free to vote. The chances of me paying $1,300 for a video game, regardless of the extra stuff, is pretty damn slim...the "extra stuff" would have to be an ounce of gold or something.

Mind you, I was looking for very expensive tablet covers and jackets. I honestly don't believe that for a video game bundle they are going to go with top of the line items, especially considering that they contracting out to a couple of manufacturers who are just going to slam out the requisite amount of items.
Seems like a money grab by exploiting people's desire of "swag".

It's 4526 7628 BLOW ME!!....(New Visa's have weird numbers....) I want to see what this jacket looks like though so if I ever see someone who has one, I can run up to them, point and laugh and steal their wallet as they clearly have more money then brains...

Maybe they could also throw in Wesker's affinity for dodging well-placed headshots, for good measure ;)
Otherwise, I think that I just may have to pass on this one :/

And lets be realistic, the majority of that 25% that voted for it are bluffing. They're voting for it because they think it's cool, but I'll bet less than 1/4 of that 1/4 would actually cough up $1300 for it.
But I guess, considering what it likely costs to produce, Capcom probably doesn't need to sell a ton of these for it to be profitable...

But yeah, a typical leather jacket is priced far less then this one is. And as far as zombie games go, The Indie Stone has made the best zombie video game to date, and it's still in alpha for the most part.

my poltix leather jacket who are the rolls royce of leather jackets only cost me 900!
50 bucks says the leather jacket in this wont even be real leather, just synthetic vynel or something else made to feel like leather.
if it was made by a italian craftsman then ok i could justify that price, but 50 bucks says it wont be, it will be a 200 dollar jacket there charging you 1000+ for!

However I would only consider paying that kind of money if it was a truely limited edition. Had I been working when Kingdoms of Amalur came out I absolutey would have bought there special edition that was something like $275 or $375. But if I remember correctly they only made 300 of them, so I would have bought it and never opened it up, it would have drove me nuts not knowing who signed the statue.
I love REAL collectors editions. Not the ones that most game companies release where they make tens of thousands of them, those I pass on unless it is something that really interests me. I miss the good old days of getting cool swag with the games, not like today where most of the games just give you a code to redeem some DLC, or a flimsy piece of paper that has the world map printed on it. In a way you can absolutely call me a sucker, but since I like collecting and I don't open the stuff up(I'll usually buy 2 copies) 30 years from now I'll be the one saying ha...look at that bid on Ebay! I can retire off this one item, lol(hopefully). And if not at least my grandkids will have an awesome collection to either sell or show off to there friends.
