Uncharted 3 Patch: The Lab Is Back, And Elimination Mode

Patch 1.11 will be ready to go for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception at the end of May, and fans of the previous adventure should be excited...

Why? Because, as they revealed at the PlayStation Blog, this update brings back the Lab. If you're not familiar, this was first introduced in Uncharted 2's multiplayer component; the Lab is a playlist that boasts "a unique series of multiplayer game types." It all starts again in U3 with a T-bolt and Pistole-only map. The Pistole is cool, by the way.

Furthermore, Elimination Mode will be added (and contain treasure drops from Team Deathmatch), the Message of the Day returns, and a new set of custom game settings will be available under Advanced Settings:

  • Respawn Time
  • Buddy Spawning toggle
  • Health Multiplier – by percentage
  • Sprinting toggle
  • Weapon Mode (Default, Basic Weapons, Pistols, RPG-7)
  • Medal Kickbacks toggle
  • Boosters toggle
  • Grenade Throw Back toggle

You know, the multiplayer element of this game is pretty damn good. In fact, Naughty Dog has created one of the best online environments out there, in my estimation.

Elimination mode was my favorite part of uncharted 2 multiplayer

I'm exited!

The lab is always popular, why not just leave it there?

I agree Ben, Uncharted is definatly one of the best multiplayer experiances out there. Although I haven't played Uncharted 3 anywhere near as much as I did Uncharted 2 (all burned out I guess), this might lure me back into the fray :)

...I kind've suck with the T-bolt though - anytime I get it I panic like "OMG 5 BULLETS DONT SCREW UP DONT SCREW UP!!" and can't hit anybody, even if they're still! Hopefully this lab has unlimted ammo xD

Cool, but I wish they'd bring back the cheats and unlockables in single player, they make replaying the game interesting.

i played some UC3 MP yesterday for the first time in a long time and i gotta say its just to hard for me. everybody is at max lvl and i'm lvl 35! i just can't compete with those animals that play everyday.

i do like hooking up with a couple buds and playing the co/op though. i generally like co/op more than the competitive stuff in games.
