Sony At E3: Guerrilla Games, Naughty Dog May Rule The Show

Many are wondering what we can expect when Sony takes the stage next month at E3 2012.

Well, according to what we've heard and current evidence, don't be surprised if first-party developers Guerrilla Games and Naughty Dog steal the show.

For Guerrilla, they're working on multiple projects and we know absolutely nothing about any of them. Killzone is coming to the PlayStation Vita at some point, but we already know about that. So as for those mystery Guerrilla projects, one is likely to be Killzone 4, but there may be a couple more (at least one more). We know one of them is a new IP that has remained under wraps, so E3 should be the perfect time to unveil it. It would also get people excited about the PS3 again.

As for Naughty Dog, we're well aware of The Last Of Us, and we'll almost certainly see more of that. But don't forget that the team has been split into two, so one team can work on Uncharted 4. Now, although the latter will launch a ways behind The Last Of Us and will likely have a much bigger presence at E3 2013, don't be shocked to see a brief snippet of Drake's new adventure at some point during Sony's press conference. There's no doubt that the two studios mentioned here could make lots of waves this year...

Even though i thought KZ3 was weak and KZ2 was the best killzone, I will be happy if a KZ4 is in the works. ND will likely show off gameplay footage of last of us. Maybe an Uncharted sequel? Uncharted 4!?!?

I really enjoyed KZ3... I thought visually it was stunning. Wish there were more of the space battles though. That would have been great!

Quantic dream's next game & the last guardian.
Interested about GG new ip but i think killzone 4 along with uncharted 4 should be PS4 launch titles.

Agree.

If the developers spend all this time making games for the end of the PS3's life cycle, that means we would be waiting until 2015 or even 2016 for a new next gen Uncharted or Killzone!!!

I say they should start making Killzone Origins, Uncharted 4, Littlebig Planet 3 and a new Ratchet and Clank for the next gen, starting right now!! Then, at least, they'll be ready either for launch or first year of the PS4 being on sale.

I'd like to see GG do something new, I can't even get through KZ3. Loved KZ2 but I gotta sell KZ3, it doesn't even compare with Resistance 3 for me.

The Last of Us is gonna be fantastic.

Resistance 3 is my fav on PS3 shooters.

On another topic, in an interview with the director he said there are clues in the episodes itself to how it happened in the end of sherlock.

It's too bad R3 didn't sell well. I found the game to be very well done. Overall my favorite in the series...if only they would've left the multiplayer coop, then it would've been perfect.

R3 is just one of those strange flukes. Bear in mind I'm an SP guy. It had all the best stuff from 1 and 2 plus plenty more (adventure story, genre mixing, memorable NPCs, weapons levels, strong environments, etc) and got screwed in sales. And I was very skeptical about the project from the beginning, man was I wrong. I dunno what happened to KZ3 but it feels like a hollow shell to me.

Amen, World. I never got into Killzone, always felt like it was just going through the motions. Resistance was the first console shooter I ever played to completion, thanks largely to the story, the pacing, and yes, the couch co-op. My buddy and I had a hell of a time with that. Then the co-op got cancelled for R2. We beat it passing the controller back and forth. And I haven't touched the series since.

I want to see some Vita announcements. Perhaps some RPGs.

I would love to see more of Quantic Dream's next project. Would also love to see a gameplay demo of The Last of Us!

Any info or a gameplay demo of The Last Guardian would give the fans hope it is still coming. Also, a final look at Sorcery before it released, in great detail!!!

But what I'm holding out for is a surprise teaser at the end for either Killzone 4, Uncharted 4, Agent, Final Fantasy Versus XIII (new footage), or even a teaser for the PS4!!

Any of those would make Sony an instant WIN at E3!!

I'm hoping for some GT6 announcement lol, but I'm leaning towards Gamescom on it, for better hope.

Other than that, I can't wait to see more footages for any of Sony's exclusives, and that includes FFvsXIII, if that is still PS3's own. Sony has so much anticipation for its exclusives, that they might not even get to show them all!

I hope GG shows their new IP I lost hope for KZ series, after 2 I didn't even buy 3. KZ2 graphics were all that really stood out, that was it.
I liked the new features they added to multiplayer in KZ3 but it wasn't enough for a purchase.

From ND I'm hoping for a great demo of The Last of Us, that surprises us just as much or even more than the Uncharted 2 demo did.

I hope to see/ hear, what MM(LBP creators) new project is, (Rumored)Console Syphon Filter,and The Last Guardian

Can't wait to see Quantic Dream's Project

All the new Vita games.

They Have Media Molecule, Ready at Dawn, Sony Liverpool and SCE London have been quiet for awhile as far as their console games, which all are working on 1.

I think with all the mystery(Even the revealed games are holding weight) from Sony with all the new games for Vita and PS3 I'm almost completely certain Sony is going to dominate again at E3 this year

I think only Nintendo can steal it from Sony, but I don't think they will have enough great software to show, to dominate over Sony's new found game's focus and all the titles they are about to smack us with, across both their flagship platforms.

I will probably pick up KZ3 at some point. Rico is so irritating in KZ2, I didn't buy KZ3 because of it. If he dies in part 3 don't tell me...I want to be pleasantly surprised.

Anyhow, bring on Heavenly Sword 2 and Resistance 4

I'm afraid that the next Playstation is all I want to hear about at this years E3.
No PS4 equals a major disappointment for me, and not even a new, gigantic AAA sci-fi RPG would change that.

The great games are already aplenty for the coming 12 months. I need no more titles to look forward to, a man can only handle so much anyway. I am fully booked.

I would really, really like to see a new technological leap though.
I was over at a colleagues house recently. He's a PC gamer and good lord almighty, we are so behind with our PS3s now it's not even funny. When we rage about the graphics in KZ3, well that could have been just an effect on one of the monitors inside a game on the PC.

Oh My Gawd... The way the light fell onto the objects, the shadow they cast and how it moves with the light, the semi-transparent objects, the particles in the air... Wow.

The next PS *will* be a good leap, I am convinced now. We are not that aware of it while only playing on our consoles, but just an upgrade of graphics and a sane amount of memory will make all the difference in the world. Just imagine what else the engineers of Sony has come up with this time around, when they are given a tad more work space to play with. They might even be able to create a usable version of Home.

I'm so ready it hurts. They got to launch the PS4 soon now. They just got to.

Yeah he's a hardcore gamer so his rig is top notch. But still, the next PS should be noticeably better, I can't understand anything else. And it should be a leap good enough for me to want to upgrade.

Ugh... playing Killzone 2 now and it is SO AWFUL! It's just way too bland and boring. Jeez. How could anyone want more. I don't even want to move on to the third iteration. Sony should just kill it and hedge their bets on Resistance, a MUCH better series by my account. Really couldn't give a toss about a potential KZ4, but I'm usually interested in new IPs. I think I'd rather see MM step up and show something that isn't online-oriented and, failing that, just shut the hell up and give me Quantic Dream and Sucker Punch.

I felt that way about the Killzone and Resistance franchises. I don't like either one at all. I really hope GG has a good new IP to show off because they are one studio that has just bummed me out over the years.

Quantic Dream and The Last of Us are my big interests this year.

GG and ND have always run the show!
especially ND, by far the best development studio out there!

GG are working on a new IP they have been saying that for years!
keep saying there not working on KZ4 for now they want to try out a new IP.
allot of rumours going around saying KZ4 is in drawing stages for a launch title for the ps4.
im really excited to see what their new IP is though.
i hope its something totally different to KZ, a new genre!

as for ND no way in hell were going to see uncharted 4 or whatever the other team is working on this year.
why the hell would you show 2 games from the same studio at the same time?
its like samsung come out and make such a big fuss about the galaxy S3, then announce the replacement to the nexus too.

hmmmm, i have 2 feet which one should i shoot myself in?

all i want from E3 is to see QDs new game!
if E3 passes and we still dont see what david cage and co are working on im going to freak!
i REALLY hope its based on the kara tech demo, robots becoming human and what it means to be human.
SO many games have tried the concept before, but every single one of them has just been a terminator clone.
IE all about the blowing sh*t up who cares about the story.
cough binary domain.........
its a shame because its got the potential to tell a really emotional heartfelt story!

Geurrilla Games I'm not interested in but Naughty Dog, thank God!! If we don't see gameplay for 'The Last of Us' at E3, I'll punch someone slightly smaller than me.

The new cinematic trailer looks great but I want to see a real demo!

I hope Sony takes the stage and proclaims that they've solved the mystery of PS3 error code 80010514 and then say they've solved the freezing, skipping, overheating, Corrupt HDD and DRE messages !

That would make me happiest otherwise I'm xbox bound !
