BioWare To Discuss Future Of Dragon Age With The Fans
With no more add-on content for Dragon Age II, maybe it's time to turn to the fans for fresh ideas. DAIII is a-comin'...
Essentially, the team is turning to the Dragon Age community to ask for suggestions concerning the future of the critically acclaimed franchise. If you check BioWare's official blog, they intend to "foster the spirit of the community" by asking important questions. Here's what BioWare community head Jessica Merizan wrote:
"Beginning today, we’ll do a series of questions and discussions around Dragon Age. Consider this a conversation between fans, the community team, and the developers. Everyone at BioWare is incredibly excited about the future of the franchise but we’re interested in what you have to say. Every month, we will discuss a topic or question about Dragon Age and game development. You will have one week to post your thoughts, desires, and hopes before we close the thread for review. Moderators and developers will pop into the thread to chat every now and again, so keep an eye out."
And this discussion will go beyond upcoming games; it could involve novels, comics, animated features, and even pen-and-paper RPGs. That all being said, Merizan clarified by saying they're "not making promises;" they're merely entertaining ideas. All they want to know is what you loved about the first two Dragon Age games, and then everyone can chat a bit about the next step. Sounds like a civil method of obtaining valuable feedback.
Okay, your turn, Square Enix.

I appreciate the gesture, I just hope they handle it better than SE did with their fan feedback for FFXIII-2.

And I think that we should appreciate these efforts, and not turn this into an accusation of them losing all balls.
Bioware's main strength is the story and characters, always has been. That's where they excel. So if we let them focus on that, while clearly telling them we do *not* want dumbed down action adventures, well that can only lead to something good in my opinion.

Bioware is well aware how much gamers and critics disliked DA2 its been over year and they've talked about it many times.
@Beam
To me their going overboard along with fan suggestions they plan listen @ every convention gathering etc and show more of the game as they go along alll this to me says we lack confidence and crave fan approval. I would rather Bioware work on something else maybe Jade Empire 2

they may have screwed up allot of things this gen, but my god do they know how to communicate with their fans!
i just hope they dont take this too literally.
problem is every man and his dog has access to these things, so they might mention something crap and it gets added into the game.
like what happened with the original AC.
so many people complained that the death sequences were too long so ubi cut them, come on they were the best part they filled in the story!
sometimes i wish developers would cut themselves off from fans, wonder if its doing more damage than good........

You guys should try to play The Witcher 2. Way better game than DA2 and even DA:O. Once I started playing it I just could not stop. It's been a long time since a game has truely grabbed me like that.
