PSXE User Review Contest: Debut Competition Is A Tie

Oh dear, what do we do here...?

In the debut competition of our So You Think You Can Review Video Games user review contest, we left it up to the community to determine the very best user review submitted during a one week period.

Simple.

But you guys had to go and throw a wrench into the works; there's controversy now, 'cuz it's a dead flat even tie. Douchebaguette's Mass Effect 3 review and Ludicrous_Liam's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves review are great, and the community liked each exactly equally. At first, I thought we'd just run a head-to-head poll to determine the winner, but why not be cheerful and just say we have two winners?

Therefore, we will publish both user reviews as official Guest Reviews on the site (you'll see them up in a minute), and then toss up the head-to-head poll. Whoever wins that face-off will receive a special prize from us...exactly what, I'm not sure yet. Free copy of Starhawk or Gravity Rush? Rockstar Max Payne 3 t-shirt? Something else? Maybe I'll give the winner a choice...

Anyway, vote now to select your favorite and please, don't shoot for another tie. ;) By the way, feel free to keep submitting your user reviews, as they can be eligible for the next competition, which will follow immediately after this one. There is going to be a large gap due to the 2 games being reviewed

Sadly I think the Uncharted review will win simply because it's reviewing a PS3 exclusive.

Looking at the amount of people who voted, that's exactly 96.6 votes between us. That's just...SO close xD

Thanks to everyone who voted for mine (not to say screw all who didn't vote for mine...but em...okay - thanks to all voted and all who didn't xD). Although, If I was to pick my personal favourite, it would've been solowing's 'Ace Combat: Assault Horizon' review, which er, didn't do too well.

I should probably state now that I'm not over 18 and I'm not American, so I can't technically win. So I have a dilemma: Should I win, should I give what ever I win to solowing because his review was my favourite, or to Douchebaguette, because it was so darn close? Decisions, decisions...

HAHAHA!!! Oh god, I don't know why but I find that hilarious xD Nothing seems to be going according to plan at the moment...I wonder if we'll tie in the head-to-head aswell? xD

I guess you being a non-American makes my decision eaiser though :)

I'm one of those who did not vote in this contest, not cause I didn't want to but simply cause I found it to be too hard.

There were the reviews that were well written, but I strongly disagreed in the score that were given - and that's a part of the review too right? Then there were those who I agreed with the score and the summary, but wrote far, far too long or tedious. And, lastly, those who I didn't know the reviewed game good enough to be able to actually form a complete opinion about what was written.

It's easier now though, with only two to choose from. :)

Hard to pick one. One review offers more in depth analysis. The other one, which didn't really require much analysis, perhaps, was more concise.

Ben should have done the tie breaker I think. He has more experience and a more unbiased eye. I fear this might turn into which game people like more. Shame as both reviews are awesome. Just give them both a prize :P

Hey Ben. I remember in in the contest rules, that it said this will be held every other Sunday, is that true? If so and everyone gets to write another review for the second contest then can I submit a review for one of my favorite games of all time, Skies of Arcadia? I know it's not on a Sony console, But the rules said to review "ANY" game.
